This…is…Menstuff!

You have to love those special times of year when the Menstuff rolls back around to Second Life. There is always, always so many brilliant gifts to pick up from awesome designers both old favourites and ones that you may not have heard of until now. As always, I’ve started sluggishly but I’ve managed to collect a few gifts which, awesomely, have all fit into one picture for you to gawk at.

Let’s start at the top shall we? That magnificent tower of blonde hair you can see there is but a single part of your menstuff gift from KMadd, one of my all-time favourite stores. Called Elcon, it’s one of three funky hairstyles that KMadd is giving away along with five(!) pairs of eyes.

Next on the list is the skin I’m wearing. If you’re a regular reader of these pages then you should be able to recognise an Akeruka skin when you see one. Yes indeed, how cool to be able to grab one of these Neo skins for free and all you have to do is find the Menstuff Hunt symbol. As always with Akeruka, this is a great-looking skin in an awesome skin tone. There’s some subtle body hair thrown in and you get the brilliant looking detail around the muscles that you have come to expect from Akeruka.

Moving on to the ink and this is one of those examples of finding a store you’ve never been to and loving it. B*FLY Tattoos is the store name and, being the fan of tattoos I am, I was very impressed by the selection they have there. I was even more impressed by their hunt gift which is the Autumn Dragon tattoo, a fantastically drawn sleeve tattoo for both arms. You get two styles of the tattoo layers: one for faded ink and the other in fresh ink – both look cool.

Last but surely not least for this go round of Menstuff gifts is waiting for you at Redgrave. The gift I’m speaking of are the gorgeous army shorts you see me wearing above. They are a mesh item so you’ll need a mesh enabled viewer if you haven’t got one already and wow they just look, so, so awesome. The texture and pattern are done really well and I love the details around the belt. There is only one size included of the mesh for this gift but it’s a pretty standard medium I’d guess, judging by how it fits my shape well.

All these gifts are definitely ones I’d recommend you guys hunt down and I’d also recommend you checking out the stores as a whole while you’re there. Every one of them has amazing items for sale and you never know what you may find, that’s one of the reasons I love hunting! If you want to check out all the store SLurls and hints, you can check out the Menstuff website here: http://stuff-sl.com/menstuff/hunt/hints/

You’re on the Bottom

I can be such a slowpoke when it comes to hunts. I missed the kickoff to the MHO7 Hunt by a few days, fortunately for me it’s a month-long extravaganza because I would have kicked myself for missing out. There are a brilliant array of designers giving out some awesome gifts and I’ve got a few to show you tonight. Funnily enough, except for the skin, they are all items for your bottom half!

Speaking of the skin, it’s from Akeruka, a name you guys should know well if you’ve been here before. It’s called Nando and it comes in this full tan tone along with the facial hair. It’s most definitely a very masculine skin with the usual super well-done details that you always get from an Akeruka skin.

The boardshorts you can also see above are from Redgrave who are always a must-visit for me when they’re involved in a hunt. Oh so summery, these shorts have a gorgeous look and I love the colours – the blue and brown go very well together here. They are mesh so you will need a mesh-enabled viewer to see them.

The next item I found was from a store I’d never visited before: Ink No.8 Meshfactory. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, just that it would be mesh and that was enough to get me lookin’. Eventually I found their gift and saw that I’d scored these awesome Dungarees. I can honestly say that I don’t have anything in my inventory like this, mesh or otherwise. The texturing is absolutely fantastic and they have a real funky look to them that I like a lot. With these dungarees you get two alpha layers and two sizes of the mesh to choose from so you should have no problem getting these to fit.  With these I wore my hunt gift from Sartoria: the Travellers Sneakers which are some very cool footwear indeed, I love the pattern on the uppers of these.

Now, if you want to talk about footwear, Muism has you covered. It has been one of my favourite stores for as long as I can remember and it’s no surprise when you see their hunt gift the ‘Troy’ boots. These boots are simply stunning. The leather texture is gorgeous and the details are superb. Check out the shadowing around the so good straps and the little ‘M’ logo up the top, amazing. The boots also come with a script that allows you to resize them as well as change the texture of the strapping on the boots. There are a whole different range of colour choices, you can even add a little sculpted sock to stick out of the top of the boots if you wish, but I liked it better without.

This hunt will go until the 15th of July so you have plenty of time to hunt down these and more of the fab items that are up for grabs.

Menswear Fashion Week

Menswear Fashion Week is in full swing and I have to say, it’s pretty awesome to have an event for us guys to mooch around. Speaking of mooching, yours truly has walked the circuit once or twice (maybe three or four times) and there are many, many amazing stores with stalls down there packed with some great goodies.

SF Design has one such stall with a couple of new release items out for you to grab. The first of these is called the ‘Ewan’ outfit and it is wicked. Ultra hip, this ensemble features a gorgeous suede jacket, plaid pants and a mesh tee. I love the look of the jacket in any of the three colours available (brown, blue or grey), I’ll definitely be wearing this a lot, either with the outfit as a whole or just by itself. The sculpted cuffs, collar and lapel all fit perfectly and the texturing is divine.

The mesh tee that comes with the Ewan outfit, as you can see, looks brilliant worn without the jacket and trust me when I tell you, I never thought that I would be saying that about a mesh t-shirt, like, ever. This tee can be worn tucked in or, if you have a viewer that allows multiple layers, you can wear it out with the pants layer.

SF Design also have this super mesh sweater and shirt combo in blue or black. This is an extremely preppy little combination that I like a lot. You’ll need a mesh enabled viewer to see these but it’s definitely worth it. The mesh comes in two sizes and I had no problem at all fitting into it. Definitely a very cool item that can be worn in any number of situations.

There are also some gifts dotted about MFW if you keep your eyes peeled. Gifts like this funky ‘Wake Up!’ shirt from FA Creations.  Basic black with sculpted sleeves, a perfect casual top. My favourite part about this shirt (other than the fact that it was free) is the sculpted bottom that comes with its own belt, it’s very well made and adds to the effect of the shirt. The tattoo you can see peeking out from the sleeves is a gift from *Birth* and comes on all different layers and in different levels of darkness (I went with the light shade for this pic). I’ve kept it on to show it off properly in the next picture below as well.

Last but not least, the ever amazing Akeruka have a stall at Menswear Fashion Week also. Many of their great skins are available there to buy, including this special version of ‘Damien’. Pale with dark lips teamed with the usual fantastic looking details, this is a tremendous skin for those of you who like to roleplay or to those of you who just like that child of the night look.

On a final note, the sunglasses you see me wearing in these last two pictures are a new release from Redgrave that you can also pick up at the MFW event. I fell in love with these ‘Zenith’ glasses the moment I saw them, they are colour changeable and look simply stunning. I was fortunate that my wonderfully generous partner bought them for me and thought I’d show them off (thanks bunches Roni x).

So there you have it, absolutely shedloads of amazing gear you can find at Menswear Fashion Week. This is but a small sampling. Head on down before the end of this week and take a long, leisurely stroll around and I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll love.

I’m on the Grain Train

The MENstuff hunt continues to impress me with its superb lineup of stores and high quality gifts to be found. Gifts such as this Grain Train sweater from Aitui. Great colours and creasing on it and with a super easy to fit sculpted body, this is easy to wear and looks great in the bargain. It also comes on multiple layers so it can be worn in all sorts of ways.

Also in the Aitui gift you get this funky little tattoo called Inhale (for obvious reasons). I’m wearing it here with one of Alphamale’s hunt gifts. There are six pairs of these gorgeous cotton boxers included, I love the texture on all of these but for colour, I had to go with dark purple. There are also two pairs of swim trunks in their gift as well so you are well sorted for underwear and the beach when you find the Alphamale prize.

I was surprised and very excited to see that Redgrave were in the MENstuff hunt as they have some very cool clothes to go along with their line of skins. This shirt and vest combo is absolutely gorgeous, I even like the look of the drawn-on collar which is unusual for me. The vest is my favourite part though, it just looks awesomely real, so good.

I had to do a quick change of skins here so you could get the full effect of these too-cute tattoo layer freckles that you can score from Adjunct as part of their gift. There are three different types: a light spray on the nose or more severe freckles on the nose and cheeks.

Adjunct have also thrown in these wicked camo fatigue pants that come with the leather belt, rolled up cuffs and pockets for the sides and back. The green camo pattern looks sweet and they are just a great pair of casual shorts all over. That’s not all Adjunct are giving away though as you also get a set of two shapes: Brandon and Josh so you can see this is definitely a well-packed bag of goodies.

So there you have a few more bits and pieces from this tremendous hunt. Get on out there and track ’em down.
