I happened across a notecard today that told me allll about the end of summer sale going on at The Cookie Jar – I sped over as its one of my fav places to shop. So glad I did, because not only where there heaps of bargains – some of the designers had placed out free Cookie Jar group gifts! (group is free to join) Above is from Lunar Seasonal Designs, you get this low prim picnic table which has an unbelievable amount of texture options for the wood and cloth (seriously!), plus you can click it and set out food for up to four people. If you touch the cutlery or the can you get a wearable animated prop to wear.

You also get the firepit, low prims, oooodles of colour options for the stones, the wood etc, plus you can choose from fish, corn or both to cook – LOVE it ! Lunar has also thoughtfully included two cooler boxes, one lower prim than the other – they both dispense a drink.

I also nabbed this darling lawn chair from Finishing Touches – only 2 prims and treated myself to the mesh potted plant from M&M. You can choose the pots patterns and colour, plus the earth etc. only 19L – a great and useful purchase.

Then I found a little stash of deco items, the shelving is a gift from Loks, again two versions included and also a planter from Bumbershoot and a sweet gnome eating cookies. The vase & flower is from Zoe’s Garden. I did buy a few *cough* well ok a LOT of items while I was there, totally worth going too !

Almost September and CandyMetal are ahead of the pack with the group gift out already! Handy mesh shorts and a cropped Tee, one thing I noticed is the design on the shirt varies across the sizes. I wore small and this design was on it – BUT! I then tried the medium on and got a glittery pink one – yum ❤ Group is free to join .

You might wanna grab these gorgy mules that are a dollarbie also. You get two pairs, one with a silver zip, one with a gold – these are for the Slink high feet. If you havent bought into Slink yet – go check it out. I found it so simple to use the feet, that I also bought the hands and then of course the body . I rarely, if ever remove the slink body – and I’m wearing the group gift outfit over it – dead simple to use. There are free demos for you to take away and fiddle about with – trust me – you will LOVE it all !

Fated!

Usually so late any sales event going on is well over by the time I find out but at last there is time to post about the latest sale event going on a FATEwear.  Sadly it’s only a 7 day event so for the sake of speed I’m going to rummage in my Flickr and find some old pictures to reuse and hopefully if I get time I will post some new one.

Can’t remember the details of each and every look but I do remember that these jeans are a seperate item from the jacket and you get different heights in the waist line so you can show as little or as much as you want.

One of my fav pictures because Faith was unaware of me posing outside as she was setting her home up for pictures. These are seperates but like all of Damiens clothes they can be mixed and matched with ease.

Should have used this picture first as it was from a previous sale.  As you can see it’s a massive 50% off it’s just the time which is limited.

Scrolling through all my pictures makes it painfully clear that I only seem to have clothes from FATEwear or Deadwool and a handful from other shops but the reality is that quality stands out even in a rezzing world.

FATEwear has everything from casual to smart, also some RPing clothes for men and women but make sure to check out the top floor.  I have the gloves pack which some with so many hand variations they’re better than SLinks and cheaper.  There is also socks and stuff like that hidden on the top floor and yet again I must get some more practice in with the new eye hud that Damien has created.  If only I had more time.

Sorry no time to do any new ones but make sure if you can to get over ASP as this is just a 1 week sale and it’s probably half way over in anycase.

Beach Babe (Free & Non Freebie)

So I paid my 250Lds and joined the Baja Norte group and started to take some pictures.  I had picked up these free Romper outfits up from Hilly Haalan’s and the beach is the perfect place to be spotted in these cute rompers.  This is the latest free to join group gift from Hilly Haalan  and again it’s nice to see that the older gifts are still out to be grabbed.  There is also a rather tasty dress on a seperate board which is on offer for only 10Lds and it’s a very casual evening wear in style.

To find the group gifts you have to go into the causal department and you can’t miss them. This is the pink shade you get pink, beige and black in the pack and this is “fitted mesh” so basically 1 size fits all and this does fit me really well.  Simple and sweet.

I’ve had a nice time wandering around all the departments and if it wasn’t for my groaning invent there are a few things I’m temped with but I just picked up the demos to try on.  Some lovely shorts and shirts, lots of SLink shoes and she has a whole load of whole outfit packs that you can buy so you can get a whole matching look from the trousers, blouse, shoes and bag for not more than you would pay for a single item. There is a large department with a load of sales items and most seem to be mesh and most seem to be priced 50Lds and under.

The hair is some new shades from Mina Nakamura’s shop Mina.  Called Femke and the colours are  specials for the TDRF event  and OMG only 70Lds!  There are 2 choices, pastels and pastel ombre each pack comes with an easy to use hud and a choice of 5 colours in each pack and each packs cost only 70Lds.Although these are pastel shades to me they still have a bit of zing in the colour but don’t worry the demo is there for you to try out.

Check out my kisser, at first I wasn’t that keen as they’re rather cartoonish and then I realised that they look just like Georgia Jagger and sometimes pouty can look good and now I love them esp with this hair.  Yo get 2 shades and 2 teeth styles.

Look Away Faith!

I was checking out some old LMs for a place to take some pictures and I stumbled on this absolutely simple and yet stunning rental sim.

The sim  is called Baja Norte and it’s a blogger, moocher, beach lover, renters delight.  I haven’t rented a property here because for a small fee of 250Lds you can join the Baja Norte group and not only use the stunning decor items but also rezz your own props and poses if you feel the need to.   It would be good to join as the fee which is a one off helps towards this great sim but it’s not compulsory as you are free to use the facilities even if you’re not a group member.

Obviously it goes without saying if you do decide to join the group so you can rezz poses and props to watch the prims! and OMG clean up after yourself! Faith and I used to run a very successful and enjoyable rental sim but the cleaning up of other people’s prims was a pain in the bum.

Although there is more than enough places for people just to sit and chat and chill  and so you may never need or want to rezz anything.

I had a mooch around the homes the note that is  sent out does ask you not to enter a rented property which goes without saying but there are some vacancies esp the ones on the top of the hill.  At 250 a week these are bargain prices homes and although you only get 50Prims you will just not need them at all.  The whole sim is your playground and all you need is a few prims for some personal items.

Now I’m not a 100% sure if all of the homes come furnished already I’m pretty sure this was one of the Vacant homes and this is the standard to expect, it’s all quality items.  I’ll be back and I’ll have a recheck.

All these photos were taken in the sims own Windlight setting which is subtle moody and beachy at the same time, you of course can use whatever setting you want.

As I said the reason I’m not going to rent a home here is because I’m going to join the Baja Norte group and  now since our own sim is very much Autumnal and grassy I  have somewhere to flash the flesh and surf. This is a busy sim with plenty of people wandering, sitting and probably mugging for the camera and yet it is so quiet and people are just having a relaxing and fun time.  I sat on a log with my new log and even though there was 2 male AVs near to me we just sat and did our own thing.  If I didn’t rent my own sim I’d move here  and I know fine well Faith would also in a heartbeat.

Must mention the brilliant person behind all of this because she won’t be making money from the rentals here as she’s asking for so little so basically she’s done this just for the joy of giving to people in SL.  Lauren Bentham is her name and her surname might be familiar to a lot of people because she’s the owner of Bentham Manor and more.  I can’t believe that high is the sky is a packed shop/forest/woodland/build of spooky and ethereal items to buy for your home although most things are set out in a themed setting ie a spooky woodland most of what you see is for sale but check out her Flickr link as a picture shows you much better than I can write.

My Baby.

As Faith says both of us absolutely love and look forward to the weekly FLF event (fifty linden friday) because some of the best shops are involved and you have such a mix of clothes, hairs, shoes, decor items etc.  This weeks list is a doozy but as soon as I saw this I had to grab it take a quick snap and post it as quickly as poss.

I’ll have to tell you more about my new Mina hair and of course I’m wearing a PumeC skin but thats all for another day as it’s the log I’m sqealing over.  This is the FLF offering from Silent Sparrow a shop I’ve bought a few other wearables before but the log is just so different. Wasn’t there a famous program in the 80ties where one of the characters walked around holding her “baby log”? I don’t know but what I do know is I just had to have it.

Fridays child is …

What was Fridays child? Ohhhh wasn’t it “loving and giving”? Well this Friday is very giving for sure…yes chickadees its Fifty Linden Friday – my favourite event of every week ! Zan and I both look forward to it, and each week scoot around to see what the designers have placed out. If you join the FLF group you will get a hand dandy notecard listing all stores participating – they do differ from week to week. This week I’ve already snapped up a few items, this sweet dress is from Valentina E, it’s called Gillian and is in a gorgy floral lilac & pink fabric. Darling puffed sleeves and a high frill neck – it’s just divine.

I also bought the set of three flat pumps for Slink feet from Boom – yes three colours for just 50L ! They really went with my new frock so I was such a happy bunneh. All sorts of items crop up in this event, I treated myself to some new poses , I spied some rather splendid decor pieces that I will have to get back too. Forgot I had this bicycle from what next, actually there are bikes for all seasons there, go check them out, the poses are SO lovely !
