A night to remember – An experience

If you fancy an interactive trip to the Titanic !A night to remember” experience, I would highly recommend this! I came across it yesterday and sloped over to check it out –  brilliant set up and really engaging.

When you arrive you will be automatically given a passenger ticket – don’t lose it as at the end of the trip you will be able to find out if your named ticket holder survived or not. Here is the blurb:

‘Welcome to A Night to Remember, a Titanic experience like never before in Second Life! Before proceeding, please take a moment to read the following information on how to navigate through the exhibit: ➀ Works mounted on walls, suspended from ceilings and displayed on easels are interactive; Click these pieces for a closer look. To learn more about a work, click its caption card. ➁ You’ll find storytellers in period costumes throughout the exhibit. Walk up to them and hear what they have to say about Titanic’s journey. ➂ Lastly, attach the HUD you received upon entering. On it, you’ll find the name of an actual Titanic passenger. For the best experience, minimize the HUD while you explore the exhibit’s six galleries. Maximize your HUD in the final gallery to recall the name of your passenger and proceed to the memorial wall to learn their true fate.‘

I wont tell you if my passenger survived or not, dont want to ruin the fun, but it was a lovely little wander, dont forget to also ceck out the gallery, beautiful paintings with interesting narrative attached.

Perfect 10 !

A new round of Perfect 10 is open ! I wanted to share a few of the pretties with you that really popped for me. Above is just one piece of a collection from HJM Designs. This nifty little bench seat come book-case is super lovely, single and couples poses. The decor (lamp,starfish and ahoy sign) are not linked , love that – you can decide on the prims you use. Personally I like the whole shebang, but without the decor it comes in at just 4Li!

Another great piece from Lunar Seasonal Designs, and you can personalise it to within an inch of its life. Seriously, each part has options – colours, lights,leaf colour,trunk colour and on and on ! I’m showing it here without the lights (they do add a few prims) but I did go through the colours for all the bits n bobs and choose my favourite. Keep an eye out for the tree trunk from this designer too – it’s SO cool, have a play with it at the vent and you’ll see what I mean.

Bumbershoot have a lovely selection of “back porch” items that I thought went nicely inside my tree house. There is more , lots more of this set – these are just my favourites . Low prim and well made. Don’t forget there is a massive 50% discount on purchases made at the event! Oh andddd don’t forget some designers goods are located outside the building.

It’s September at FAC (Freebie).

I decided I simply couldn’t face unpacking all those gifts from the Enchantment event and so I decided to just sim hop which basically means I open my world map and when I see either sims which look as though they have something interesting on them or so many AV dots I gotta TP over just to be nosy.  Sometimes it works and sometimes(most times) it fails and this time it FAILED and I found nothing of much interest but fortunately for me, I keep a little list of the shops guaranteed to have something sweet for us and FA Creations has never failed  me yet.

A simple and yet detailed quality romper.  Great satin texture a mesh fit for all inc mesh bods and a 2 colour Hud option which has this light cream or a black satin option.  Free to join group and although by the time I went to grab this I ran out of SL time and didn’t get to have a good “neb” (slang for being nosy) around the shop I know that last late summer/early autumn I picked up some really good clothes inc big fat Huds.  So once you’ve snagged check to see if the new seasons clothes are in stock.

Great group gift out from Lapointe & Bastechild (group is free to join) Both for women and guys ! Tank top in long and short options with a Hud containing ten graphics for the front – brilliant! No specific mesh body sizes included but the XS fitted my Slink Physique perfectly.

Nabbed this mesh jeans from the market place, actually a little more vibrant in reality but I was messing with my windlight settings (againnn) They are by KvH and cost just $1L – mesh body sizes included as well as standard.

Also grabed this sweet little frock and a pair of shoes! Dress is by CatWalk and is $1L – mesh body fits and standard also. The shoes are by Mirus, you get a Hud with six colours and they fit Maitreya,TMP, and Slink mesh feet. Cost is only $10L.

I’m lazy and greedy(oodles of FREEBIES).

TBH I’m not being lazy but just overwhelmed by the VAST amount of gifts that have been set out at the Enchantment event.  I won’t tell you what the theme of this round is but I think you can pretty well guess what it is from this Yellow Brick Road.

Simply follow this road as it winds its way past all the stands and most of them have CAKE and I love CAKE esp when the CAKE contains a giftie.

I had actually started to unpack everything I had grabbed but by the 4th item, I realised that not only was there way too many good things to show you but also that time is running out since this event finishes on the 31st.  That means you do have plenty of time to go grab but just in case you have other plans for the next few days I didn’t want to delay this post any longer.

PS There is a massive selection of tempting stuff to buy from witchy clothing to decor items.  I didn’t splash out this time but I did grab a few LM’s of shops I’m not very familiar with plus a couple I have not visited in ages so that’s my Sunday sorted.  Have a great day everyone.

Enchantment

Hello Sailor – (renting a home in Second Life)

I’ve been dying to use that as a blog post title ! Its been a couple of months since I last looked around at rental homes – and this time I have found a real gem . It all begun when I was trying to sort out my inventory, I came across some items made by Ken Rosenthal – wow blast from the past! I haven’t spoken to Ken for years, so like the true stalker I can be, I looked him up and noticed he had rental homes. Now, if you know Ken, you’d know he is one classy guy. Intrigued to see what he had built I zoomed over – et voila – ended up renting one of his gorgeous homes in “Sailors Cove”. As I suspected the place was beautiful, small and welcoming. The real beauty is that you have access to the open sea from your home, rez your craft and you’re off ! The home is a light and bright space, open plan living downstairs and furnished mainly with pieces from one of my favourite stores “Bazar”. One double bedroom upstairs and a gallery landing – perfect for placing an easel …or something.

Soooo renting details:  $600L per week. The units are furnished and have an additional 150 prim limit(land impact) for you to add. You can request the unit to be unfurnished for a total of 270 prim limit (land impact). when you get your note-card with embedded group joiner just click and wear – et voila !

I haven’t had the urge to rez any more furniture to be honest – it’s so tastefully done already why change?. However the generous prim allowance means you can fool around with your collection of boats, yachts etc outside on your deck. There are just eight of this sweet homes to rent and three are taken already – pop over and check it out. The landmark given will take you to the deck of my place – feel free to mooch ! I’m BACK in my fat pants and sloppy bra but at least I come with a FREEBIE.

OH Lord I’m a PIG and even my “fat pants” are straining at the seams but I have NO REGRETS…ok just a few but come Monday it’s going to be low carb, low cal, and healthy food choices.(that’s because all the remaining biscuits and choccie will have been eaten by then, I’m no fool).

So easing myself back into SL just like I did my fat pants, one inch at a time, I started off on the Marketplace.

It’s a start at least LOL.  If you remember we’ve stripped the sim back to bare bones, apart from our homes, and as soon as we can we’re going to give the sim a new and fresh late summer early autumn makeover and this well is a great starting point for any homeowner.A close up and if it wasn’t for the fact my AV was naked and I was too lazy to put some clothes on I would have stood next to it so you could get an idea of the size which is pretty realistic.  Big enough to make a lovely garden feature but small enough to not overpower a small garden and ONLY 2prims!

Actually, I’m just reading the blurb about it and Talnis Zane, the owner of Naked Design says “Well folks (pun intended!) Here it is, the updated version of my old mesh well. This I wanted to release as a gift. It’s not perfect, but it’s the first mesh I have made in a while so I am getting back into the swing of things. I hope you enjoy this gift from Naked Designs.” The only thing is I can’t actually see what’s not perfect about it, great texturing, prim count etc and once you’ve softened the base with grass, plants etc it’s perfect.

Even though I was naked I did TP over to the LM given with this giftie but ended up TPing into someone’s home and once I’d hauled naked SL ass out of there I rechecked the MP and I don’t think there is an inworld shop anymore.
