Renting a home in Second Life

Hubba Hubba – I haven’t done a rental home for simply agesssss have I ! I hope you find them useful – drop me a line and let me know? Soooo after jetting about a bit I came across this fabbo apartment. It’s with a rental company called Baron Estates and renting was really a breeze. The office is a new method I’ve not seen before, there are boards that you touch and they show photos of whats available in each category. Easy to understand and use. I was looking for something budget conscious and saw an apartment for $175L per week, furnished with heaps of options and some prims. Popped over to see and was so taken with it – I rented on the spot. Very easy to rent, pay the box, group tag arrives – et voilà, you’re in. There is security, which is  simple to set up and operate. Soooo onto the home, what I totally adore is the flexibility of the accommodation. Not only can you choose the carpet/floor colours and textures, but also the walls ! You can also play around with the furniture set up, most of it is by one of my fav designers Bazar – so I was dead chuffed with the quality and style, but if you didn’t like a room – use the box on the wall to remove it and use your own. You get 65 prims with this apartment – plenty to add a more personal feel. (I think I’m using 41 at present and I did curtains, decorated the balcony etc)

Just a taste of the interior as you’d find it upon renting – although I did notice today another of these sweet places opened up and it had a really gorgeous kitchen that was different from mine. Might be worth peeking about to see whats on offer before renting. Above is a photo of the box on the wall that allows you to fool around with the colour scheme and furniture. I noticed that the Bazar furniture also has some colour options to play with. The view is fantastical, right over a protected waterfront, it really doesn’t get much better than that.

I’ve had the rental just twenty-four hours, but have popped in and out at various times. I’m always concerned with apartment living, in case I have unruly or nosey neighbours? The great thing is that your privacy is maintained from block to block view the viewer settings they’ve used. Plus I didn’t actually see a single soul on any of my visits. It is located on mainland, another myth blown away – it’s not laggy! Definitely worth a teleport over to the office to house hunt!

Super happy to share with you the latest new releases from Neve. I haven’t worn flares for a long time, but these are delish! The “everyday top” is gonna be your go to item – promise! Superb fit as always from neve, and a variety of packs to choose from – dots, stripes, neutral etc. Each pack has four colour options , making it a fantastic priced piece.

 

I’ve worn the top in both options, cut off and long so you can see how adaptable it is. Sunshine & Showers

Ohmaigerdddd the weather here in England is just freakish atm! One moment sun, then a shower, then hailstones – seriously. This morning at 5.30am I was actually scraping ice off my car – not a happy camper . Oh well at least tomorrow is Friiiiidayyyy! So so so – if you haven’t ever gone to Dench Designs by Amanda Dench , you really need too. Its one of those stores that you alwayssss find  a little something to take home with you. I always end up buying something and this trip was no different. I have benches galore in my inventory, but when I saw this one at Dench Designs I fell in “want” with it. It’s a fairly standard nicely made bench – howeverrrr its the animations that grabbed my attention. Amanda always adds a little whimsy to her pieces , Id like to think it’s because she is English but its more likely that she’s just damm good at what she does ! Couples and singles poses, for a picnic, chatting etc…above I’m enjoying a sammich in the Spring sun…

 

…then booom outta nowhere you get a rain shower and sound effects and you’re sat there sheltering from the downpour under a blanky. Isn’t that just SO sweet? The couple version of this pose is heart melting – it really is dead cute. The bench does come complete with the peacock and some assorted shrubbery, but as its modify I detached the extras above, great if you need to save some prims! (If you need a bit of assistance in “unlinking” stuff, drop me a line and I will send you a notecard explaining how to do it.) The items in the store are very modestly priced, so you can afford to splash out and treat yourself to a few bits and bobs, plus free to join group and regular gifts are a real bonus.

Today I have my Sh*t together, my RL work is done, my house is clean, I’ve done my exercises, I’ve scared my cats and I have a PIE baking in the oven OH YEAH!

LOL Sadly though I’m not this slim and beautiful AV on a stunning beach in a beautiful floaty dress.  It’s another Mag<3.B offering and since I’ve just done a big post about Magritta’s shop I thought I’d give it a little time to give you lot a break but I made the mistake of putting it on and it made me “hum” and I couldn’t help myself and TPed to one of my fav beach sims and started to dance.

Only 100Lds and you get a colour changing Hud which changes the colour of the top/under dress and the sheer top layer 4 for each and each light and Summery.  It was hard to pick a fav so I didn’t.

I’m now wishing I had zoomed in closer as you get such a great fit and such great little details, you can just about make out the tiny buckle on one of the thin straps.  You get all the standard Fitmesh sizes and the SLink Physique bod fit.

Honestly it’s so simple and so divine and again those little wrinkles around the stitching are just a sign of care that someone puts into their products!

I took these pictures in the gorgeous and flattering sim setting but quickly checked out the colour/tex in my Nams and it’s virtually identical in both settings, I’m only saying this because there usually isn’t a demo available which to me is usually a downside but I’ve never come across a naff texture from here in any case.

Oooo check out the MP as well I’ve just spotted most of the same bargains that you can pick up in her inworld shop and remember GET THE CLOGS! Only 5Lds and I wear them ALL the time they’re my “goto” shoes.

Just a few “happy snaps” today to show some free & cheap items I’ve gathered up on my travels. Dead chuffed with this gypsy skirt and sweater combo from M*Motion – its a group gift and the group is free to join. A heap of sizes included so you should find the perfect size for you.

I also struck gold on the M*Motion lucky boards with a striped sun dress and a really chic little sweater /tunic ! The spotty dress is by cream spaghetti hair, this is the Unknown Hunt prize. The dress is super sweet and comes with a HUD with a choice of  eight colour! I also snapped up the bag as a group gift – free to join.

Hands up how many of you pervs are checking this post for something Xrated lol.  Sorry but just like Great British TV I seem to be full of “repeats”. I popped over to Blueberry with my fingers crossed for some New Freebies but I was slightly disappointed because I do know that 2 out of these 3 items we have been previously posted about and there is a good chance that even the 3rd item has also been posted previously but since they’re so good, so handy and sooooo free I just went with it.

I’ve just finished a week of a very strict weight loss/cleansing diet and omg when I stood on the scales this morning I nearly fell off them!  Not a diet I would recommend to many but it’s got me looking soooo fine and with my new gym kit all I’m waiting for now is payday so I can start at my new gym.  So since payday seems to be ages away I’ve been doing some buns n tums tone up exercises and yes in my living room in front of the fire because would you believe it, SNOW in the UK in late Spring! FFS! I’m STILL wearing my Winter woolies and sobbing into hot chocolate! (Remember we English love to moan about the weather lol).

Now this strappy cropped top is possibly the one item I’ve not shown you before it’s hard to tell because it’s a classic SL strappy cropped top and they’re plenty of them around but then I notice the MASSIVE colour hud and since you can’t make any of the detailing out in the black here it is in one of the other shades.

As you can see lots of those creases and wrinkles which make things look so much more realistic.  Can’t remember how many colours come in the Hud but you have everything basic blacks to bold reds.

I definitely remember blogging this and I also remember the indecent crowd of people rezzing to the Blueberry shop to snag these.  The bra top and panties come as separates but have the same waffle texturing and the same pretty generous colour Hud so you can match them up or as I’ve done make them different and you can also change the string colours.  You can just about at this angle make out the little stocking tabs on the bottom because they’re lingerie but as you can see from my top picture I think they look just as great as shorts.

All of the clothes come in standard Mesh sizing but also a couple of the most popular Mesh bodies inc SLink Physique and I know that because I’m wearing my SLink Mesh bod.

In all honestly I would have thought that this house would have been removed as a GG because it was a Christmas special from….maybe even thinking about it was possibly even from 2 Christmases ago?  Doesn’t really matter as this is a STUNNING build!  and the fact that it’s still out is an absolute boost.  You get 2 options in the pack a stand alone house and in this picture one that comes in a stunning snow setting with big snow drifts and landscaping.  100% quality texturing and design it’s perfect and it’s primmy.  Actually it isn’t but we’re prim Wh*res, we count prims like some people count their pennies.  I can’t remember the actual prim count but for this fully landscaped one it’s about 300 and with such excellent quality texturing you don’t need to be stuffing a house as good as this with furniture, less is definitely more and of course with the much newer designs you can get stunning decor items for amazingly low primmage! Get yourself a little sky platform, rezz this and decorate it with style and you have a wintery cosy nook all year round.

PS if anyone thinks I even closely resemble my AV let me tell you my tip of the day, I’m breaking in my new gym shoes and they’re killing my feet especially across the top of the toes on my left foot and I have found that one of the pads out of a bra I own slips over my toes and are acting like a cushion so my tootsies and now I’m not in constant pain.  Keep that image in your mind when you think of the perfect AV me LOL.

Before I became a PumeC Fanatic I was an Essense Fanatic but the classic line of a lover wanting to break a relationships “it’s not you, it’s me” is what happen between me and the Essence range so I won’t bore you with why I don’t now buy Essence skins anymore BUT just because I don’t doesn’t mean you shouldn’t!!!  Skins, shapes, boob sizes & ass sizes etc are all very personal and what one person loves another will not so you do your own thing even if that means you want to wander SL as a purple skinned banana, it’s YOUR SL after all.

As you can see this is a very quick post, I literally logged in just to grab my notices and pack up my stuff and log out but this was too good to miss. Essence skins VIP group is FREE to join but this is for a limited time, till the end of the month I believe.  So of course I caved in to temptation and TPed over joined, snagged, TPed home, pulled a pose and 1 click later here “Hope” is.

Hope only comes with only 1 skin in 2 versions, no cleavage and cleavage and if you can’t tell I’m wearing the no cleavage version LOL and no appliers at all, BUT and I so often forget this the fact that this Free skin doesn’t come with any appliers shouldn’t put you off.  I am so lazy that I rely on Appliers to colour match but of course ALL mesh body bits come with really easy to use colour Huds as standard! So if you have a little time to spend then it’s nothing to get an exact or close enough skin match using the Skin Matching Hud which comes with whatever mesh body bits you use.

So I may not be such an addict to Essence skins now but esp now that the VIP Group is free till the end of the month this is too good an opportunity for others to join and TBH I’ll stay in the group myself for a while.

And because I’m a PumeC skin ADDICT I’m going to be sneaky and put the LM for their shop and beautiful sim so maybe just maybe you will pop over and see for yourself why I adore their skins and have done for a good few years!
