I Might Be Late To The Party – Free Mesh body

I have to thank Player for this – he spotted you can get the Legacy Classic body (male or female) for free ! First of all teleport to the store, then look to your left for the free mesh body – select male or female and it will teleport you up a level. In the small print towards the bottom is “Get The Free Edition”. Join the Group first though! (TheShops! is the group, joining button on the wall in front of you). Then scurry home and play around with it.

First thoughts: I don’t like the alpha Hud, too clunky. I’m used to Maitreya I suppose and find it so easy ! Nothing I found for the legacy body seemed to fit properly? The Alpha’s weren’t fine enough and I had gaps in boots etc. I suppose as this is the free version, these points probably aren’t in the version you buy? The feet are super tiny ! Yes I tried the deformer and got confused as to what shoes I should wear? Legacy? Maitreya? However, its a pretty decent body and I’m grateful for it being free.

I did find a couple of 10L items from the market place to try on, the boots and dress both being fat packs were a steal.

BOM (Baked On Mesh) .

URK! I bought so much chocolate for the “Trick ‘n’ Treaters” only to have 3 turn up!  Some years there has been so many of them I’ve had to rummage in the panty for stray cake bars etc but this year only 3 and I’d bought enough chocolate to feed a classroom of kids.  So, of course, I had to sit and binge-watch Judge Judy shoving chocolate into my gob and this morning all I will say is “payback is a bitch!”.

I’ve deleted the part of this post which was moaning that SL seems to have some issues because I tried again and this time my 500Ld budget turned up so I’m going to assume it was either just a small SL glitch or a small Me glitch.

I’d also asked Dateless Wonder if I could post the note she sent me as a handy “to do” list for how to use Baked On Mesh and she said YUP.

Errr this is it.

1. Take off everything – mesh body parts, hair, clothes, jewellery, HUDs and alpha layers. You’ll be stripped down to your shape, eyes, system hair/brow shaper, & system skin.

2. Pick any system skin to wear.

3. Attach the Bakes on Mesh body, hands, and feet, and head.

4. You should see the system layers showing up on your new mesh body.

5. You can now further customize your avatar by adding other classic layers: hairbase, make up, tattoos, or switch up another skin.

The only thing this isn’t the whole note as she’s put a lot of thought and info and very handy links to Marketplace finds but I couldn’t copy and paste the entire note just this itty bitty thing but I think this is as simply explained as possible.

One of the Links Dateless gave me was for a blog/name that did strike a bell and I’ve had a quick look and what a brill blog and yet again another brill breakdown on Baked on Mesh. So freaking funny and his whole blog is pretty informative.  I have to log out now, slap some makeup on and pretend I can adult and later on I can check out his blog properly.

PS.  Do NOT worry if you don’t want to use BOM you don’t need to, although it would be best to have a Second Life server which allows you to see it if you don’t want to you don’t have to.
