A random TP took me to an area where people really seemed to have gone out of their way to make a little bit of SL really nice, I passed a lovely café with a canal, an old gas station etc and then I came across this gateway.
Naturally being a nosy cow I walked though it and found a wonderful small(ish) plot of green rainyness (sic). I just love green rambling places and the rain with puddles forming on the ground is just so well done! I was so awed by the landscaping I even donated some Lindens and you know I’m a meanie. When you see such skill being use AND its for US to use how could I not.
This is just one of the landscaped plots under the “The Nature Collective” label the note card has all the details and LMs but I’ve just cut and pasted this first part of the note you get.
“The Nature Collective is a Second Life group created with the goal of cultivating a community around sims, spaces and projects which share a common focus on nature. It is our hope to foster a movement to help people engage and reconnect with the wonder and joy of nature, in the virtual world and beyond.”
I think they also hold events, just get the note and don’t be like me, read it properly lol.
As for the picture, when I walked all the way through to the other end of the pathway there is a notice board which tells you about a Hunt and also a photo competition. I found the hunt prize, easy peasy lemon squeezy, and then decided I’d go back to the entrance and just change the Windlight setting, point and click and encourage others to just give it a go because you don’t even need any photo editing to take a really nice picture. They also have a Flickr link if you want to add your photos. I get the feeling that even if you don’t think your photos are any good you will still get compliments as this is a group that just wants to give people in SL a chance to enjoy beautiful scenery without having to pay for tier/land etc.
PS. There is more than just this path going through a woodland, there is a cafe, outdoor and indoor spaces and it also looks like regular events are held.
