This Coat

Finally found THE coat! Ive been searching and searching for something to catch my eye et voila – here it is.  Classic trench-coat with a twist. Gawd I am really SO pleased. I went back to Pixel Box (see my last post) as it seemed such an interesting kinda store. Goth / retro/Victorian/modern all sorts really. Then I spotted this…*happy sigh*, it is unbelievably only $50L , seriously ! Boat load of fits in the box, I’m wearing a Maitreya body and its perfect.

The Hud is interesting, lots of options for colours and styles. Four types of buttons, eight colours to play with between the four styles. Plus you can tint to get a really personal look.

Just to show you another style from the Hud – a two-tone version – love it ! The store is quite large and two floors, youll find lots to see.

Lovely by candlelight. (Freebie).

I was only at Noctis about a week ago to see if there was a new GG but sadly for me it was the old one, previously blogged, so as soon as the notice came out about a super timely gift I was off over there and you can see by my outfit that was just this morning.

You get both wearable and rezzable versions of these wine bottle candles.  It does come with a pose just not the one I’m using.  Only 1 prim each so rezz away.

I love Noctis it’s a shop, or two, packed with heavy Victorian/Gothic furniture and decor sets which are up to date with mesh and reasonable prim counts.  I’ve always wanted a Victorian Mansion and although God knows, I own a few builds which come close to what I dream of so far nothing has grabbed me but the best thing is that one day I know I will.  Anyhow check out Noctis and check out both shops as in the 2 shops you get 2 colours and so far I’ve just grabbed the red bottles and I’m not sure what the colour in the other shop is.

REMINDER.

I’ve mentioned Orchard Heights before but I just wanted to give another MASSIVE SHOUT OUT!  I’m still in the group but I’m going to have to leave it as there is so much put on for group members I really feel so sorry that I don’t have the time to become more involved in this amazing group/sims/roleplay etc  They have movie nights, dances, parties, breakfast mornings, coffee mornings, speed dating, even bloody GYM and YOGA sessions!!! They have 14 sim packed with things for you to do, cycling, fishing, bowling etc and undoubtedlyy because we’re almost at the haunting hour there will be a massive Halloween event to top that all off.  Every time I’m doing something and the notice comes out a large part of me twinges in disappointment that I just don’t have the time to go.

Although I’ve given you the LM to the renter’s office you DON’T have to be a renter to join them for any event and although “roleplaying” is in the title all they seem to want is people to come and spend time on their sims and just have a FABULOUS SL with them.

PS Just in case you’re wondering the candles do give off a really exc glow, I just dimmed the picture for effect.

30 is my lucky number.

Another 30Lds Sat offer this time from Mistique.

XXXparasoluse

Steampunk/Victoriana at it’s finest.   You will also see some shoe showing in the top picture this a classic design of Victorian walking out dresses, the raised hem stopped the skirts trailing along the foul paths and roads of olden times and if like me you have a sexy pair of Victorian boots a nice way to show them off.

XXXparasoluse2

There isn’t a Demo for this outfit because it’s a 30Ld Saturday offer, you do however get a choice of 3 colours, Rosemary Pink, Rosemary Creme and Rosemary Green which of course is the colour I’m wearing but they are separate purchases. This is definitely a keeper for me.

Mistique is another shop where you must slap the sub board because it’s Mahi Dreamscape send out regular notices about all the lovely items in the special events such as 30Ld Saturday, 35Ld Sunday, 60Ld Weekends etc and this is all shop quality stuff.  The whole shop itself is a mix of furniture, decor, clothes and I did notice when I scanned up to the higher floor even poses.

You may also notice that this is the Free Parasol Faith scored last week and as soon as I saw her post I went and grabbed it and as it turns out it teams beautifully with this whole look.  The Creators Collection Box is celebrating it’s first year in SL and we all know what that means..FREEBIES and lots of them.  So if you haven’t followed Faiths link and snagged all the gifts set out for us you’d better hurry as I have a feeling it will be over soon.

Philomena – The life & times of small town America in the 1900’s

Town of Philomena

I was wandering the grid, looking for a home to show you this month. I happened across the town of Philomena by chance, and decided to look around. There was an old fashioned trolley bus trundling by so I hopped on and went for a ride. As we left the shopping area and entered the residential side, I was enchanted. The homes are varied and cater to all budgets and all fit into the Edwardian / Victorian period. As I’m such a pauper I got off the trolley by a  small’ish looking home (above) and was pleased to find that it was very affordable indeed! The home was unfurnished (which I prefer) and had a plentiful prim allowance to decorate. Naturally the region is “period” but role play is very optional, I think its lovely to have the opportunity to dress up in period costume – so I have – but again it is optional. As you can see , at the moment the region is decorated with Autumnal plants and foliage, at the recent town meeting a new weather system was exhibited, and it looked fantastic – snow for Christmas perhaps! That is essentially the huge difference that I’ve found renting a home in Philomena, it’s a “community” and boy oh boy are those rare to find these days in Second Life! Most Saturdays there is  social meeting, plus various other events such as a yardsale for us all to sell our spare gacha buys.  Its going to be a busy Winter too ! Lots planned for the townfolk, I’m really looking forward to the decorate your home contest.

Philomenaville

If you’re unsure how to furnish your residence, don’t fret. There is a large shopping area in town with everything you could possibly need for your home. Plus period clothing – of which I have bought rather a lot of!

Philomenaville Shops

It’s so relaxing just walking around the town, window shopping and hopping on and off the trolley bus. Apparently Philomena also has a railway station, which I am yet to visit. There is a new system in place so that you can travel between Historic & period regions. Each region has its own “visa” that you wear to use the facilities – it sounds marvellous and I will be having a go later this week time permitting.

Philomena outfit by Umikoh $50L many colour options - mesh!

Couldn’t resist showing off one of my bargain buys, I found this on the market place by Umikoh – just $50L for the set plus seven basic colours to play with. All mesh and really nicely made, I’ve found it doesn’t have to cost a great deal to get “into character” and its so much fun looking for clothing of that era.

Philomena Mayor

This is The Mayor of Philomena, Mr Blake Panache, and this photo was taken at last night Town meeting – it drew quite a crowd! Im not sure why the Mayor has spider webs on his hands – maybe he has a day job of uhm – Spider Man?! Oh the intrigue . At the moment the rentals are not centralised in any way, so its simply a matter of walking or bus’ing around till you spot something you like – just like I did. Have fun and if you move in, please do come and say hello.

Poison Candy for the one you love to hate.

We all love to hate someone or hate someone we love, occasionally, so here is the perfect Valentines pressie to send them…Bon Bons of Love, great name for them.

choc dust

I actually bought these to simply use as a prop in my home because I love that old Victorian styled box  as it reminds me of the type of chocolates that would be used to poison someone in an Agatha Christie’s book and those chocolates remind me of my fav RL one’s Thornton’s.  Turns out that they are really poisonous!

deathurb3

Watch as the one you love nibbles on the choccie, grasp their throat, stagger a little bit and then slowly sink to the ground…DEAD!

death

Just love it, you even keep the chocolate clasped in your hand.  Looks like the loved one “Victim” doesn’t even need to turn off their AO for it to take effect.  Since you get 2 boxes you can either send a box out to 2 people you love, to hate, or just the one and keep that one for your home.  Set it out and when you get visitors invite them to indulge in a choccie.

hatstand

Just in case you didn’t notice this in the background, it’s one of my fav SL pieces of furniture.  This hat/brolly/coat stand is a classic RL design even my Mum had one.  You really need to check it out inworld to see that it has all the details from the metal coat hooks to the lovely wood texturing.  The suitcase underneath  is mine but this stand comes with the brolleys and hats inc but they’re the non linked items so you can use them or replace them with your own.

The Choccies are only 55Lds and the stand is 225Lds.   Although I’ve not blogged Noctis before I’ve actually got a few items from here over the years.  Lots of old Victoriano and spooky items but it’s one of the few shops that can do the ornate and heavy Victorian style with the look of new mesh and not old blocky prims.  If I was to ever get that old Victorian Villa style home I’ve wanted my first shop I will be visiting will be Noctis.

PS the box of choccies isn’t oversized they’re on a small table LOL.

Warning sign.(Freebie)

secon

We should all have heeded this sign before we ever logged into SL for the first time.  Sadly this isn’t the dress I wanted it’s the consolation prize from Haught Couture Design. They have a shop at the Hello Tuesday event I’ve just blogged about.  Sadly since I’m a girl on a budget and payday is still days away even though her Tuesday discount item is divine it was still a  little out of my price range so I popped over to her main shop to see if she had any GG, hunt items on offer and at the back of her shop I found a small selection of really nice and handy outfits for only a promo price of 10Lds.

OK slightly confusing is that her main shop is called Haute Couture Design but the small satellite shop on the Cosmopolitan shopping sim is called Poute so go there to try the demo Victorian dress on because although she has it in her main shop it’s the smaller one that has it at the discounted price.

skin

A close up of not only the dress I picked up from Haute, other colour choices available, but also the skin which is not only FREE but included SLink hands and feet and Lola Tangos WHOO OOH.  Not only is it a sweet and simple skin with lovely colouring and a light smattering of freckles, ADORABLE on its own and if like me you have a massive amount of make up this subtle facial colouring is not only delightful on its own but lends itself beautifully to so many looks.  This is a Group Gift but free to join.
