Silly me going on holiday when SO much has been happening ! I’m just totally swamped with goodies to share yay! The Challenge has a theme of “Vintage / Retro” and that suits me just fine. Above is Sways Walter park bench. It’s so homely, just like the ones in my local park area. They are only 2 Li and come in two colour packs containing three colour variants . I’m showing the blue from the colours pack – the other pack is naturals. They have 8 single animations, 10 friends animations (also usable as 20 single animations) and 7 couple animations. If you go grab yours now you will also get a hefty 25% discount (valid until the 8th August). Also sneaking into the photo are the lovely pots of uhm “home-grown” flowers by ChiC Buildings, low prim and two versions included , rusty and shiny ! For all other participants in this months round please see the web blog !
Ahh yes, I am still on my bleu phase ! I even managed to find a house that’s blue – heaven ! Big thanks to a SLU forum member who poked me towards this rental company – I found SO many homes I liked it was hard to decide upon which one to rent and play around with. The rental company is called “ffrendz” and have a few sites – the Sim I rented on is called Skadi. At the moment its all hands on deck as they are totally revamping their rentals – new homes – new layout. When I found a home I liked, it wasn’t quite ready – so I dropped a notecard on the lovely owner Basilicum Beerbaum and asked if it could be reserved for me, so I could pay the rent when it was ready. No problem ! The very next day, I was ready to roll. Received a note from the landlord with all the information I could need and dashed over to claim my retreat.
The rent is incredibly affordable, I was surprised. I was going to rent one of the little funky beach cabins but decided to go large and splash out on a larger home on the oceans edge. This larger spacious home cost me the grand total of $386L per week – what a steal ! I also get 250 prims, so plenty to decorate the home, rez up a boat as it has access to the sea to sail. As you can see outside you have a long deck area, perfect for entertaining, fishing from and lounging about. (I have a little confession *gasp*, I usually rent for a week, enough time to get a feel for the area and take some snaps – but yesterday I put another week on the box as I LOVE this place that much.) Player came over last night – got his seal of approval too. I haven’t been bothered by a soul but I see people on the sim regularly. I’ve sailed for hours, fiddled about inside and just sat enjoying the view. The landlord is friendly but not in your face – I was given all the information I needed upon renting, a warm welcome also. The rent box contains a prim counter – so you can easily keep a tally of how much you’ve used.
The home I chose to rent is fabulous. Underneath you have your very own boat house, a place to store your yacht or speed boat. I have really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching people sail by. Upstairs are the living quarters, this is a view from one of the side windows. as you can see, you’re not hemmed in by other houses and it gives the feeling of wide-open-spaces. I noticed that none of the homes I looked at had a locking system for the doors, so I asked about it. You can, if you want, use a security system of your own. I bought mine from Phil Deakins at Prim Misers. I think they are around 150L a pop, easy to use, simple to set up . (I’ve used these for six years, brilliant little thing) To be honest though, I’ve not even bothered closing my doors – its a nice neighbourhood and you get the feeling that there’s no need to lock up and safeguard.
The main living area is vast, plenty of room for a sofa, desk or even split it into a bedroom studio kinda deal. French windows fold back to reveal a large balcony area that’s ideal for dining or sipping your morning coffee from. There is also a smaller room off the lounge, great for a nursery or office space, perhaps a small kitchen.
In one corner I placed my brand spanking new desk set from StandyBy Inc, currently available at collabor88. It really fitted in with my nautical home !
I also splurged a little at Sways and bought this darling little photo frame in the shape of a birdcage, you can add your own happy-snaps !
My superb sofa is from BoatHouse, I hadn’t been to this shop for simply agesss and I thought they might have something sweet for my new home. I was right ! Snapped up this couch and fishy shaped coffee table plus a rag rug for the floor. The animations in the couch are sooo lovely ! Singles & couples and naughty ones too o.O ! More from the Boathouse later I promise – I bought a LOTS .
FYI. Ffrendz rental community is undergoing a revamp currently, they will have rental offices set up at each location eventually apparently, which will make it easier to navigate around all the areas. There is also a web site which is under construction for the time being and may not be totally up to date, this is the web address : www.ffrendz.eu . Contacts

More from The Challenge, and Sway’s has his fantastical little build and fencing up for grabs. It’s the Andersen half timbered summer-house. Low on prims and high on style. Such a darling little cabin, perfect for your springtime and Summer gardens, maybe a little hideaway for you and your friends. Inside is really a blank canvas, so gussy it up, go rustic or retro, whatever you fancy. The fencing for it is superb, I’m a bit of an expert on fencing after having scoured SL for some last year.
Couldn’t resist sitting outside, as it was such a lovely day yesterday. A few woolly friends joined me as I perched on this stool and table set from Sickly Sweet. Quite shabby chic and feminine with a handful of lovely poses in the seat. This is their gift in the mega-stuff hunt, and one I shall be holding onto. Check out the rest of the store while you’re there, definitely one to keep an eye on, as I spotted some unique and desirable pieces I shall be going back to ponder on.
Inside my Andersen house I found it spacious enough to place a couple of pieces that have stolen my heart. The chair (there are two in the box),vase of sakura blossom and the chest of drawers are all from Cleo Design. This is the gift for the Mega-stuff Hunt and quite the find. As is usual with Cleo Design, you’re richly spoilt with poses for both males & females, including some that rez props as above. I just fell in love with the colours of wood on the chest of drawers, so quaint ! I teamed the drawers up with this wooden belling deer wall decor panel from [hatethis], there are two versions, a more natural toned wood and this one that fitted so well with my theme. (Is it me or does this look really really art deco?)
The Challenge is here ! This months theme is “Heaven” and there are sooo many things you’re gonna love. Above is “most” of the set from Cleo Design, I say most because there is always SO much in the box I’m bound to neglect to get something in shot ! One note, the lamp you will receive has sweet wings on now, it was updated after I took the photos.
Anywayyy, what do you get? Well there’s a sumptuous couch with plenty of poses for singles & couples. You can change the texture of the cushions and the throw. A pouffe, vase with roses and pretty petals, plussss drapes with two “view” boards to place behind if you fancy a different scene, cool huh?!
22769~bauwerk have these incredible chairs out for The Challenge. Plenty of sit poses in them and a range of colours for the fabric of the seat. They gave me a reason to wear my cupid avatar yippeee ! Amazingly low prim, buy lots. The angel lamp you can see is from [hate this], there are two versions, right & left, which is sooper handy. It also switches on and off, you can alter the colour of the lamp too and intensity , brill !
Sways is in this round – and I was delighted to find a fluffy cloud couch , I actually uttered an “awww”, no kidding. The couch has gazillion sits poses, and has two very heavenly star-shaped pillows, you also get a pouffe that has many sit poses in it ! I noticed for FLF you can grab a matching bookcase, don’t forget, only 50L for Friday. You have a choice for this set btw, the star one as above orrrrr getting into the V-Day feel, one with heart-shaped cushions. Bet you’re wondering about my little friend? Isnt he a dear, I was at United inshcon and saw him stood all by himself , how could I go home without him?! Only 2 prims and he whimpers and woofs – all for 30L ! The only problem is, he’s a bit of a cake snuffler..tsk.
Last up is this set from Kuro. A perfect collection of items to scatter around and feel relaxed. The bundle of pillows contains some really lovely animations – sits plus activities such as reading or using a laptop. You also get a really neat hanging ladder that has dangly sparkly stars to illuminate your space ! Must forget the cup-of-splosh on a book ! The pillows have a couple of texture changes in them so you’d be able to integrate them into your home. There are plenty more stores in this month, take a peek at the blog for info and Landmarks.

SwayLand is a dangerous place to visit because this sim is packed with amazing stuff for you garden, home, houses, housewares, landscaping, clothes, toys, props, gifts and on and on and all the shops and displays set out in a lovely well-developed and relaxing sim. This LM should take you to the front door of Zacca (which has the smallest door sign I’ve ever seen) and inside you will be tempted, there is some wall lights and a metal cake stand which I so want but will have to wait till payday but untill then I grabbed this handy-dandy table set.
Do NOT come to Swayland if your rushed or have somewhere else you should be. Wander around, check out the Gatcha’s that are in the main area you might be lucky to find one of the gift boxes with your initial on or in this case I found these sweet freebies tucked under a sign.
Sway Dench at Sways has a brilliant Advent calendar this year. Its not so hard to find the boxes – each one gives you a notecard with a secret password to grab your gift! Full instructions on how to complete this are there for you also. I received this awesome hat today (a beautiful xmas wreath yesterday) The hat is from trifoglio…classy and I will prolly use it a LOT this month ! Head over and get grabbing those hidden boxes..you cant go back and collect the previous gifts so dont miss out!
