I’m a Gooseberry – Renting a home in Second Life

Well well well I have certainly struck lucky ! Decided to look around the rental home market and found this absolute gem. I am currently renting a home with Gooseberry Estates. I found them via their market place decor shop and was a little confused when I landed in the shop. However I was helped on my way by one of the estate managers Bren. I was fully expecting to find yet another cookie cutter estate – you know the drill? But I didn’t ! Hooray for Gooseberry and their rethinking of the rental market.

Soooo first decision was a small or large or premium plot – the small was $600L per week with 400 prims. I went with the small plot, which turned out to be pretty BIG really ! Chose a plot, paid the mailbox  et voila – I’m moving in. Now you may have experienced the skyhomes where you can choose from a selection of homes yes? This is similar (but better) land based – they do not de-rez when you leave unlike most of the sky home versions I have encountered. On the reverse of your mail box you’ll find the button that gives you a huge choice of homes – not just any old homes but the latest & greatest homes by all the cool designers on the grid ! They are also landscaped – mmhmm each house rezzes with its own landscaping – gawd a godsend for me. Every plot big or small is water facing and you are permitted to rez a little pier to enjoy the view of the water from.

Currently I am enjoying this Cory Edo house – but I am pretty sure in a few days I will change it out for something else! I have also joined the community group which looks to be pretty busy with events, gifts etc. I also read their gazette over my morning coffee – and learnt a couple of things I didn’t know about SL . There are heaps of cool things about renting on Gooseberry – go and take a look !
