Moving on – $1L home !

I was dead chuffed to find this gift from Simple things & Forever summer today. Not everyone in Second Life changes their decor and surroundings when the seasons change – in fact for almost 8 years I lived on a tropical island year round (which is prolly why I have such an aversion to them now !) This is the “Trudy Tropical Island House”, its dead pretty and includes the patio, pool and all the trees and plants. You could use this straight outta the box as is – or play around with it.

You receive two versions one with everything and one with just the house – and beware none of it is in a rez box – so rez it in edit mode.

“The Trudy Tropical Island House is an open-spaced wooden house on stilts with 2 bedrooms. It sits on a man-made island with a swimming-pool. It has a spacious front balcony and extra-living area below the house. The house itself is 43 land impact and 22×26. The area for the ‘island’ and boulders is 36×43. The landscaping and pool are 90 land impact.”

It’s so low prim for what it is, Id use the whole thing and decorate – it’s no modify sadly but hey ho – what a find! The interior is nicely done with some shadowing and great wood textures. Limited time offer so grab it while you can. Check out the market place store while youre there – some other great builds for just $10L.

The Challenge - Cleo Designs NEW

Cleo Design is in this round of The Challenge, and has a fantastic set for you to try. The cabinets come on a few colours, I was dithering between the traditional black lacquer or the gorgeous green to be honest. Theres a tea set, a stunning bright red parasol for décor and of course – food !

The Challenge - Asian theme Cleo Design

The table and chairs are really beautifully done, poses are just right for the furniture, eating, drinking , chatting etc.  You can just see the screen on the right hand side and also the floor standing lamp which turns on and off.

The Challenge - Asian theme Home 10L

I set all of Cleo designs items up in this rather opulent Asian themed house I found on the Market place – for just $1L ! Mmmhhmmm a single Linden and its all yours, hanging lanterns and all. The whole home is 108 prims, but its huge space for that with interior rooms, sliding doors and the fabulous shaped roof.

Spring is Sprung

Scarlet Creative - NEW!

Ahh the Sunday HurlyBurly, its my favourite day of the week. Friends drop in for coffee, dogs to be walked and joy all-around. Now if I had a home like this new release from Scarlet Creative, life would be purrrfect. Its called Captain’s Cornwall House, and has quite a nautical feel to it , inside and out. It really does make my mouth water a little when I see such beautiful textures used . I especially liked the decaying plaster wall outside. Lots of different levels inside, which give it a nice flow to wander around in, and for a home that’s not overly primtastic, feels so spacious!

Scarlet Creative - Arcana_006

Inside it’s not lacking on surprises ! I turned a corner and boom ! I found a splash pool and porthole decorated wall. Inspired ! The water has poses so you can lounge beside it or in it. If you look up, you wont find a bland roof or ceiling in sight, it’s all beams and nooks.

Scarlet Creative - Arcana_009

One of the larger rooms is big enough to get a couple of couches in and whatever else you’d need to be comfy. I used these “working from home” sofa by Scarlet Creative to try to show the floor space off. Note the huge windows, they make the whole build so light and airy.

Scarlet Creative - Arcana_003

Just off the main living room, is this area with a large fireplace, I settled into the Dead Nature set by Arcana. It was out at the “The Feeling” event – which has now ended but I’m hoping it might find its ways back to the mainstore now to be on sale for you. One thing I really enjoy about Arcana pieces is the oodles of choices you get on textures. The rug, chair ,table and screen all have texture changing abilities for wood (if applicable) and fabric. The old-fashioned gramaphone is actually a working radio ! For those of you that are eagle-eyed, YES I’m wearing a new release from the massive spring collection from coldLogic anddddd new shoes from SaxShepherd! My top is called hawke, and has three options of wearing it, sorta layered effects or not , as you please. The loose capris are called Jay, and my god, I haven’t removed them in TWO days! Thats a sure sign that you will be bombarded with seeing me in them for  everrrrrr. They come in a variety of denim shades, light to dark and I simply adore everything about them !

Sax Shepherd NEW

Sax Shepherd has a lot of new gear out currently and it’s not all about shoes ! The vintage petal mules I wore above are on offer and there is also an 80’s collection that I’m loving. I chose to wear the pince-nez, the HUD allows for so many texture changes its uber cool. (The frames, lenses, metal and decor stones – all have options). If you go to The Theme park event you can see the whole range. More coldLogic and Sax Shepherd later, when I’ve had time to rummmage !

Home sweet Home

Soooo I was tied to my desk most of the day, taking call after call…during the REALLY boring ones…I was also browsing the market place (yayaya, I’m a woman I can multitask!) I saw this darling house, very pretty (a little high on prims but really nicely built) Lovely textures throughout…locking door…brilliant for 1L…its by ~Harmoni~…sooo anyway it got me thinking..I wonder if I could decorate it, low prim…and for virtually nothing…a challenge!

You might have noticed the charming wicker chair & table set Im sat on outside, its zero lindens and is made byAL’OL Homes. Low prim and looks perfect..nice animations also.

Heading inside, I couldn’t resist snapping up these framed prints by one of my all time fav budget shopping haunts “Lisp Bazaar”.

Everything is 10L or under..these sets were completely free. (only 2 prims per print). I began to search in earnest now for some interior decor..

…and came up with thisss, the whole set consisting of a large plush sofa..matching chair, two rugs, lamp stand, table and screen plus the picture…and the scatter pillows for the floor was just 2L ! There is actually MORE..but I couldn’t fit it all in the shot…a fire and another sitting pillow.  Each piece is low prim and the poses are lovely..fahhhbulous.  I really loved the textures, so tactile and looked snuggly soft..Its by a previously unknown store to me called Unfinished Caravan…will certainly  take a look at their other items .

If you’re looking for a more modern feel…howabout this lounge set from [FourSquares], it’s called “Metis”…loved its sleek lines and great quality baked textures..streamlined and would work really well as separate pieces, or all together as I have it here…a little heavier on the old prim budget at 47 prims the set..however it is zero Lindens…and you can split it up to make a feature  in an area..really lovely set.

[FourSqaures] for the Metis set

 ~Harmoni~ for the cozy house

AL’OL Homes for the wicker chair set

Lisp Bazaar for the framed picture sets

Unfinished Caravan for the sunset lounge set
