Batty about Mesh

Happy 2012 everyone! I hope you all had a good New Years. Since it’s a brand new year, I thought I’d give mesh another shot. I’m still a little wary of it, to be honest, mostly because of the viewer I use for it.

Anyway, if you’ve been waiting for something wicked to try your hand at mesh with, you should look no further than Mr. Poet. You can pick up this awesome Bat Sleeve Knit Coat for absolutely nothing. It comes in three colours: blue, grey and black and the texturing on them is great. The size of the coat is just perfect and since it’s mesh, you just wear it and go.

As I said, this coat is absolutely free and it’s definitely perfect for dipping your toes into the mesh pool.

Right now over at the J Island mall they are having themselves a little hunt called the ‘J Sim Ichigo Hunt’. A lot of the stores in the mall have hidden a little strawberry inside them and once you find them, you can get some very cool stuff for just one linden. Faith and I ran around like mad hunting strawberries and tonight I’m going to show you one of the items I picked up.

It’s from ::Mr Poet:: and I was excited to find it because they sell some of the most gorgeously made clothes around. Their hunt item is the ‘Dot Neckerchief and Pink Shirt’ above. I’m a fan of pink tones in clothes, I just like the way they look on me. The texture on this particular shirt is kinda rough-looking, almost like linen, the stitching looks brilliant as do the creases. It comes on all layers and includes the sculpted cuffs, collar and the bottom part of the shirt which might be my favourite part of the whole thing, it just hangs so well. Of course, I can’t fail to mention the neckerchief. I’m usually not such a big fan of scarves, I can just never seem to get them to fit without stretching them to unnatural looking sizes but this one was much better and it looks great . Remember, you’re looking for a little strawberry to grab this sweet bit of kit, it’s not hard to find.

I couldn’t leave the store without buying the ‘Knitted Coat’. I can’t say whether it’s a new release or not, all I know is that I never saw it before and it was only L$60 so I was grabbing it! The knit texture is lovely and warm looking and it also includes the bottom part to the sweater, the cuffs and the collar which is amazing, the laces are part of the collar and fit in perfectly with the neck. This coat is a steal and is also available in black.

added by Faith: omg, I left his side for no more than 30 seconds and he sneaked in a sly purchase! He didnt say a word!

The Pink Poet

Since it’s Friday night and I’m home I thought I might as well make myself useful and do a couple of posts. The first one was a kind of blast from the past for me. About a year ago I visited Mr Poet and picked up a brilliant houndstooth jacket but I hadn’t managed to get back until our little helper Zan sent me a landmark for this store that apparently had some great freebies to pick up. So, long story short, I get there and it’s Mr Poet and Zan was very right.

On to the clothes and first off is the Hakka Printed Cloth Coat. Now I know some guys are a little wary of wearing pink, but personally I really like it. A good-looking pink shirt looks really good on a guy if you ask me and this is definitely one of those. The prim collar and bottom of the shirt (which is all one piece) might take a little fiddling with, depending on your shape, but the end result is worth it. I really like the inside of the collar/bottom prim, it’s got a white semi-transparency to it that gives it a thin, cloth look. The prim sleeves are easy to fit and look good too. As I said, I think the pink looks great, it’s vivid and eye-catching and the floral designs on the coat look wicked as well.

The striped tanktop (or vest as it’s called here) is also free from Mr Poet and comes on multiple layers and in two different versions: the normal version you can see in the picture above and a slightly lifted version for those of you who want to show off those abs 🙂 Also included with the striped vest is a pair of the plaid boxer shorts you can see in the picture below which are awesome. I don’t have nearly enough good underpants in my inventory and so I (and someone else I know) was glad to get them. Great for lounging around in.

PS: The mall Mr Poet is in is definitely worth a look around as you can find a lot of great stuff for a wide range of needs, both for free and for some $$$
