A WALK OF YARN BALLS HUNT!

3 x Free gifts 2Li each

Did this little hunt yesterday, three stores involved HPMD and D-LAB and Andika. When you arrive you need to find the gift boxes, lots of phoney ones ! These three little characters were the gifts at HPMD – 2Li each and super cute ! You will see two illuminated doors one for each of the other stores. I was stuck at Andika and just couldn’t find the gift or gifts – anyone finds them let me know!

You’ve got some land- what now?

Over the last few months Zan and I have moved home – primarily to downsize to a more affordable situation. We went from a homestead to half a homestead – it seemed at the time such a mammoth move, starting afresh, choosing new homes and landscaping what land we had.

Before we did anything with the land we both decided to hunt down a new home. Take your time over this, as everything else you do afterwards really depends on what style of home you choose. Check the market place under “Buildings and other structures” then select “residential structures”. Please do go and visit the inworld stores – I cant suggest this enough ! Pretty photos on the market place give you an IDEA of what a build is like, but seeing it in world is totally different. Think about the land impact, and what that leaves you to decorate the interior of the home and landscape the surrounding area.

If you are renting a chunk of land, you can edit the terrain but you may not be able to alter the terrain textures – we’ve found that “land forms” as shown above can be really useful. Zan has these from HMPD (not listed in their MP but in the inworld store) Also Alex Bader of studio-skye does some amazing mesh terrain, rocks, cliffs etc to totally transform your land and add character that a blank chunk of land just does not have. I’m pretty old school and I like to play with editing the land, shaping it, lifting it etc. The most useful tool I have for this is the “Land leveller”, basically its a wooden rectangle that you move around and the land follows – if you’d like a copy just drop me a note!

Once you have decided where to place your home you can then landscape around it. Zan and I have been in SL for a lifetime so over the years we have accumulated a LOT of stuff. We have our favourite designers for plants & trees, rocks, furniture etc and I will list a few below if you’d like to check them out. The key thing is not to rush and buy a ton of items, try and let it evolve and change – you might be surprised with what you come up with ! When I started in SL everything was tiki and beach based!

Moonlit Bay NEW

I’ve just scrapped everything on my side ! Both of us love love love to change homes and I was lured by the Dome home by Rebourne, its been out for a while but I had a hankering for it when it was released. It can be sky or land based, luckily for me Zan agreed to landscape around my new home – looks amazing ! Dont be nervous about editing the shape of your land, add a beach, add hills and fields, cut the plain shape up to create meadows and gardens. We have used a lot more open water between our homes, takes up no prims. Add a few waves et voila !

A short list of places we both love to spend lindens at:

HPMD – land forms & trees

Studio-skye – all types of landscaping

Dench Designs – furniture

3D – Trees and plants

Bazar – furniture

Hisa – homes

Salome Designs – ancient style homes

Trompe L’oeil – Homes

It ain’t happening! (Freebies).

Sigh! after all of that I turn up and I’m sat there in the dentist office trying, and failing, to be brave only for them to come out and apologise because one of the pieces of equipments, I can only assume resembles the face clamp out of the Saw movie, was broken.  So I happily ran out with a big grin on my face until I realised that I now have to go through all of that again at a later date.

I’m revamping our sim which means updating the plants and trees so I popped over to one of my fav SL shops and Woo Hoo I found Freebies.  A charming old rickety mail box, some lovely details to it ie the key on the side, paintbrush etc but not only is this only 3 prims you get an even lesser prim version which is minus the key, brush, letters but still has all the charms but only 1 prim!

Right next to this Group Gift is a couple of tops.

Now it’s obvious that I have edited the picture.  When I’m showing paid for items I like to show them as true to colour as poss but when it’s a freebie I allow myself some artistic leeway but I will also give you an honest description.  The main body of this top is more a creamy white with the pastel almost childish flowers on it, the back panel of this top is a plain almost hessian texturing look to it.  It actually has a home-made look to it something a crafter or recycler would make.  You do get another colour, blue I think, but I ran out of time to try it on.

I’ll only give a quick mention of the hair as it’s a paid for item and there for I want to show you it’s true colours but of course since this is a Mina hair then you will be able to see from my many posts just like I’m a PumeC nut I’m a Mina nut and so you can see the sorts of colours that come as standard with Mina hair.  It’s only available at the Shiny Shabby event at the moment and since I literally only managed to squeeze my AV in there for a few minutes I want to do a better post about this hair and hopefully any new Freebies that maybe at this event.

If the first LM doesn’t take you right to the Group Gifts, and it probably won’t, simply follow the sign to the Mainshop but don’t walk straight ahead into the tree’s turn right and the main shop is there.

PS Smack the LM board for HPMD’s Christmas room.  Nothing is for sale but this “room” is a fantasy of swirling festive items a delight to the eye.

Catch some happiness today

Happy Mood - happiness catcher milky way denim mesh outfit with shirt and socks slow kitchen hat hair

While I was out exploring Happy Mood the other day, I came across this natty little gadget. Its called a “happiness catcher”…I admit as there was no demo I was not entirely sure what I was buying . I’m so very glad I went out on a limb though, it’s just wonderful and amazing and makes me smile BIG. Basically, you wear the catcher (or fishing net) and then twirlllllll around to the left or right…and you capture things in your net. I caught all sorts of items, such as cake, leaves, love letters, hearts, bones and also the  special stars. If you catch stars you get the chance to make a wish ! Once you’ve made your wish…its spelt out in the sky above you in bigggg twinkly letters, isn’t that precious? (You have to be in a sim that you can rez in for this option)

Also included in the box are two hats (I’m not wearing them in these photos, I’m wearing my hat/hair from slow kitchen), which are sooper sweet, the catcher also has a built-in AO, and its über cute….plus the option to use single poses one at a time…oh look! I caught a big fat slice of cake *grins*…If youre liking my outfit, it was such a steal. It’s from “milky way” and cost only 100L, the set comes complete with striped t-shirt socks and the romper suit itself. Definitely worth taking a look at this store, heaps of deliciousness, lucky boards also.
