Cheap finishing touches

I found this darling little head dress @ Indyra, placed on the front reception desk for free – no group to join, just pick it up. Perfect for Autumnal looks or Halloween.

Old Friends.(Dollarbies).

There are some shops in SL that I visit on a regular basis waiting for the newest Group Gift and !g0 is one of them and nope no new Group gift.

Then I had a brainwave because did you know that there is a discount and gift department? F*ck yeah I kid you not!

Lots and lots of Dollarbies and although they’re marked as Group Gifts they’re old ones so you don’t even need to be in the group just pay a Linden and they’re yours.

Just the top in this case…I swear SL is just like RL where I have my fav jeans.  I’m now wondering if I can get away with green jeans in RL as well.

Some of the clothes are older and come in the S,M,L etc sizes and some are newer and come in Mesh bod fits.

To find the discounted items and the Dollarbies you can either use the shop TP, it’s the stack of boxes near the LM or walk to the first door of the shop to your right and they’re upstairs.

Think about joining the !g0 group it’s one of the groups I have been in almost from the beginning. I LOVE the !g0 style I also love the regular Group Gifts and often a certain colour of a new release item has been set to half price for Group members and then, of course, we have CHRISTMAS! I know it’s way too early to be thinking of Christmas and Advent Calendars but when it comes to !g0 and their Calendar if you’re going to just do one this year make it !g0’s as the gifts are outstanding.  You do have to be in the group but it’s ONLY 50Lds! Still the same piddling price all these years later.

Check out the whole shop as there is everything from floaty hipster to costumes.  I have an amazing hat/hair from here which when I feel like wandering SL dressed up like a lady and not some cheap-ass blogger emblazoned with “demo” signs I put on a gown and this hat/hair and float around like Lady Muck or if I’m feeling it I pull on my Ballet shoes and the best Tutu which I bought from !g0 and pirouette my way through SL.

A hat that works for me.

I LOVE HATS, I may not wear earrings, bracelets, necklaces, bags ‘n’ panties etc in SL but I actually would LOVE to be able to wear more hats but it’s so hard to find ones that work with your fav hairs so to find this stunning hat which seems to go with so many of my existing  hairs has made my day.

Because I couldn’t see any demos I’ve taken the pictures just in my Nams Optimum setting.  If you look closely you will see that this one comes with a chin strap which when I first put it on was way too big but it only took a simple tweak to edit it to fit snugly.  Remember to make a copy if you’re unsure about tweaking so if you mess up then you still have the copy but honestly it was just a simple little thing to do.

You only get 1 shade of the hat base and I chose the beige shade but you do get a hud for the flowers, 9 shades in total, for the flowers and as you can see you can either keep them all the same shade or mix ‘n’ match.

This hat is only 123Lds and if I had been able to try the demo first I think I would have bought the fat pack as that is most reasonably priced but without a demo I wasn’t sure if it would fit.   Never mind as I have pencil marked another hat in the shop to buy at a later date, it’s the one with the veil and roses.

This is what it looks like from the back and I think you can see why it works, the hat has a thick brim to it and although I didn’t try on all my hairs apart from a couple of the “Big hairs” they all looked good with this hat.

It’s about time.(Mina’s Gacha Wins 100Lds or less).

I’m not going to blab on much because I do enough of it but I’ve mentioned a few times that in Mina’s mainshop there are Gachas and all are either 100Ld and in 1 case 75Lds and finally here is just an example to tease you.

Some of my fav goto hairs are Gacha wins.

Although you have to take your chances on the colours you do get the full colour pallet for that shade.  I think the 75Ld one is the only one which is limited in someway.

I’ve stuck to the mid browns tones but honestly, for example, the brown pallet goes from dark blonde to darkest brown.  I used to own a hair pack from a shop long gone in SL and in those days you didn’t have Huds and so this folder had 100’s  of hair and each a supposedly different shades in it but I could have binned almost all of them because the difference in the shading was almost non-existent but this is not the case with Mina’s hairs.

The weird thing is is that I rarely see Mina’s hairs in the yardsales so basically people must just be so happy with their wins there isn’t a big second-hand market for them.

I’m not even showing you them all as there are about 10 or 12 Gacha’s inc 2 hat/hair Gachas, although there are 3 styles of hats, of course, you can try before you buy because demos are available.  For 100Lds or less you can’t find finer hair.

PHEW, I can finally clear these pictures out of my folder now LOL.

Mina’s Mainshop

Stink Eye.(10Ld Group Gift).

That was sweet and simple and all thanks to a link from one of our readers, Brinlea, who gave me the heads up on this GG from Lode.

I’m not sure why but the Jian chickens really seem to have “F*CK YOU” faces on them, chickens with attitude!

The pump is the gift, not the stink-eyed chicken.

Comes with it’s own little stone square and look closely you will see the dragonflies attached to it.  It is copy and mod…except the only thing you can unlink is the Dragonflies and as it happens I’ve removed the pump and left them because although they are static they look pretty good where they are.

Cost 10Lds to join which is just a token price so simply join the group and you will find this gift in the group notices not in the main shop.  Better hurry as Group Notices disappear after 14 days and I don’t know how long this has been out.

Lodes isn’t a furniture/house/garden shop it’s actually a shop which sells some stunning headdresses and now it’s also a shared clothes shop with VRSION(sic) upstairs.

Overloaded. (freebies).

Awww another Happy Birthday and this time it’s The Instruments.  I can actually remember blogging the very first event and it’s come along way since there and so in celebration of its second birthday oodles of gifties for us all.

The dress and hat are gifts and the pretty box I’m carrying is one of the delivery packages I just used it and the pose it came with to take a quickie pic.

There are lots of bags which although they aren’t my thing as I don’t even remember to put on undies let alone accessories my look lol, however I am a decor nut and so of course I rezzed them and then prim checked to see if I could use them as decor items in my Boudoir and yup the ones I rezzed were only 1 prim and not lacking in any detail at all!  As soon as I got this dress I stopped unpacking and did my posing as it also means that when I rezz back inworld there is some nice surprises for me and of course since I’m not showing you everything some nice surprises for you as well.

This is a lovely well set out courtyard with stalls and everything is so easy to find but of course I checked out whats on sale and I picked up some wacky hair demos to try on soon and a few excellent potted plants for my home, not free, so you too may find something new to tempt you.

PS I think that when you rezz inworld you will be facing the wrong way.  So simple turn around and you can’t miss it.
