I’m not telling you why I was at Greymoon Designs – will tell you later, but there I was ! I joined the group because I wanted to keep up to date with new releases. Then I spotted a group gift vendor inside the store – FULL of amazing homes and pavilions etc. Wow I was thrilled, just scroll through the vendor and place the gift you want in the centre frame, then right click choose pay $1L (Which is returned to you) et voila. My two fav’s are on this blog post – above is C-Side cottage just 55Li, superbly textured and designed. The group costs only $50L to join btw.
Then the Lyria cottage just 93Lim – a ton of space in this one, a splendid home. Take a look at all the builds – I love looking at builds and this place has some beauts ❤
Since Faith has found some great freebies I decided that today I would check out old LM’s which is how I came to the M&M Creations shop and WOW.
I will say that the photos are NOT of the same building, I ended up taking dozens of pictures of all the buildings and couldn’t chose which one to show you so in the end I decided I’d show you just a hint of what you will find at this shop.
This is a “Full Perm” shop which also has full builds/homes out for sale and I love each and everyone of them.
I’ve just spent a most pleasant 45 mins wandering and camming around some of the best “themed” homes.
I say “themed” in the sense they have a rustic/RP/Gor/village/mansionesque feel. I really do hate to “label” the style of these builds as I think they have something for everyone. The attention to detail is just excellent from the soot stained fireplaces to the hidden room with marble seats etc.
The quality of texturing is second to none, that big grinding wheel turns around and behind it is a built in stone sink.
The person who built these builds has such a brilliant eye for details. Take for example this stone sink and the more modern window which opens to a deep window sill and you can see the older outside window frame. Anyone who lives in the UK or has visited an old castle knows that the walls are feet thick and have often when they’ve been modernised have a new window frame inside.
Every home and every room has something which makes you go “oooh, what a great idea”.
I was actually going to buy and live in this split level cottage once.
You may remember at the begining of this year we completely stripped our sim back, got a new terrain map, and then rebuilt from scratch and this build was going to be my new home. Even though I didn’t go for it in the end I can still see how it would have looked. I won’t tell you the prims because I must be wrong as they’re just way too low so I’m not sure about them.
The builds are split over 2 levels so check the ones on the ground and then hop on the TP for this cottage and some more builds.
Now for the downside, price tag. Sometimes I love a home so much I buy it even though I know that the chances are I will never ever use it, just knowing I have it in my invent is enough but although I really do think you’re getting your moneys worth I can’t justify it in this case as we are talking about 1000++++Lds.
However I can’t stress enough that you are paying for such great quality and attention to detail and remember, Christmas is around the corner so why not treat the RL and SL you a dream home to live in as a Christmas Treat.
PS. Don’t rush over and buy as I’m going to do another post on homes. As much as I hope you fall in love this these buildings I’d hate for you to see my next post and then have “buyers remorse”.
I was dead stoked when I found the prize for this hunt at Rack @Steaming Ahead ! A cottage with bedroom in a tower all set on its own little grass and stone platform – and its only 11Li !
So sweet inside with beams, stone and plaster, a fireplace and a really wonderfully textured floor. The windows and glass panes are so well done ❤
Up the wooden stairs to bed and you’ll find a small bedroom with dual aspect cute windows. 1L per prize – nothing else really caught my eye, you can see all the prizes listed on the hunt blog below. (This isn’t modify BTW, so sadly you cant play around with it )
I saw this on the market place and was curious enough to buy it. At $99L its not overly expensive- so kerching it was in my shopping basket.
I am not sure how the 1Li house was achieved as its a good build, with a working door and some pretty details. Originally it seems this was built as a sim filler or for purely decorative purposes BUT – as people liked it enough to want to live in it – the builder (MeshPromo) also gives a version with some added features which takes the build to 10Li. I rezzed the 10Li version and was impressed! Id definately change the 4Li curtains as I have some of my own that are just 4Li, Id also change out the fireplace. While the fire is nice, at 2Li I’ve have nicer ones for 1Li – I’m such a prim miser ! This version also comes with a Hud that gives you four textures for seven parts of the house from the roof to the walls and more – brilliant ! Several colours of the build are included in the box.
Take a look at it on the market place and read more about it.
As you know I try to showcase a rental home or estate that I’ve found to be a cool place to live. So yesterday I was out and about looking for something to share with you. I visited many many rental homes until I eventually found a sweet little cottage at Dandelion Dreamland rental homes. It was a good position with some great views and unfurnished for $200L per week and 100 prims – not bad ! As I landed I had been bombarded with the usual group joining notices etc but until I’ve found something worth a look I dont tend to pay those much attention- whats the point unless I’m going to rent right? WRONG – my mistake I really should have read and re read the many and lengthy notes on the card – this isn’t the usual note-card you get to tell you all about the rules – , Quite a longgggg way down the note states –
“Dandelion Daydreams Factory has a one off group join fee of 200 lindens, this fee has been put in place as open rez attracts way to many trolls and griefers which ruin the experience for everyone. Joining this group allows for temporarily rezzing objects, ideal for photographers & bloggers and also those wanting to rez small items to use while visiting. Most importantly, the cost to join 200 L$ goes towards monthly tier & keeping Dandelion alive, thus we appreciate all that join. Not last to mention you can participate in the entertaining activities issued during the year and receive group gifts.”
What?! Thats right – to set to home, to rez your objects – infact to get any use out of the home – you HAVE to pay and additional $200L to join the group !!!! In all my years as a landlord, as a renter , in alll the years in Second Life – I have never ever ever ever been asked to PAY to join the group of a rental company! I dont want free gifts, I just want to rez my furniture and set to home. Just set up a group for the home renters and offer group join upon the rent box being paid – SIMPLE!
I wont be able to show you a home today – long story short , I am $200L down, no rental home and I’m in a group I’ve got no use for ! The landlord did refund my rent at least – as she stated it was my fault for not reading the LONG note-card fully before renting – actually I did but, I never in my wildest dreams figured that the PAY for group was for people renting homes – jeeeez.
If you dont mind the group fee on top of you rent – heres the landmark for the homes.
When I find something like this which is not only cheap BUT COPY AND EDITABlE I make a noise like Beavis and Butthead….huuuuurrrrrrr…
This whole thing, cottage, garden and surrounding walls cost me just 69Lds and it’s an offer from Harvest Moon. I had gone there to check out a hunt but as you can imagine the chance to waste a RL afternoon ripping this beauty apart was just too good.
This is the back of the cottage, ignore the horse and the sparkly bits as I literally just rezzed this build on an emptyish plot of our land. The cottage is a single room and a standard mesh AV size so very usable.
The flowers are mainly what I was after. As I said it is mod so I edited, edited and then edited some more as somethings come linked in blocks such as this full border of flowers but they can be broken down even more, to just the simple small individual plant. These come from T-Spot which is a full perm shop but also one which has now become a firm fav of mine for shrubs, plant and home and garden stuff so to be able to fill my own small cottage garden for the sum of 69Lds is a bargain.
“huuuuurrrrrrr” again, the more I take it apart the more things I’m finding, a simple path, the base of the whole thing would make a nice base for your home, there is a kittie playing with a flower and just before I logged off I found a little pond in the back garden.
The downside, sorta, is the prims. All of it combined/linked was something like 350 Prims so a lot of prims but again for those who like to live in SL and like to chop n change their home with ease then this is easy to rezz as it comes in a rezzer and apart from throwing down some furniture it’s all you need.
The LM takes you to Harvest Moon and you’re right in front of the Hunt info boards if you want to try that out but to find this and other items turn around because it’s on the wall there under the green “Syndicate Sunday” offers board which is why this cottage set up is so cheap. I also forgot that at some stage as I was here a wearable Hyacinth was sent to me and if you sub like what I did then you get a light projecting thing which I’ve not checked out yet.
Found this little beaut of a mesh house on the market place by elfico penso to share with you. “Olive Cottage” sounds a small space but is actually pretty big. If you peer closely you’ll see the little basement windows around the bottom – bloomin brill as this house comes with a built-right-in basement! Here’s the deets: 4 rooms, a balcony and a basement! You can paint the walls as you like. Length: 14m Width: 14m
Lovely detailing for a dollarbie build, the doors are especially nice and are followed through the whole place. Touch the basement door to go down a ladder and you’ll find a full house size area – what to dooooo with it ! Well made staircase takes you to the upper level with an added small exterior balcony to enjoy. Top notch !
