Cant beat this for $1L !

Dead chuffed to see a new release by The TinSmith , this “double decker loft” style apartment is just fab. At the moment its on offer for $1L – I suggest you grab it as the price will go up !

Its a low land impact high on style build. The lower floor is neatly divided into two distinct areas by means of a wall with place for a fire – or whatever you wish ! Burgundy marble would make such a lovely hearth no? Plenty of windows that give the whole space a bright airy feel. The stairs are hidden away to the rear, dark marble steps and a brilliantly decorative wall with lots of cubby holes for knick knacks. Upstairs is one large space with plenty more windows to let in the light – nothing boxy about this skybox !

Blimey, my day started off so quietly and then RL started to kick off, not in a bad way just a busy unplanned messy sorta way, so I didn’t manage to log in till really late on and although I’m not too keen on this top that’s only because it’s not my style and not because of lack of quality.

I’m actually using this picture because I love how I’ve caught myself with a slight frown.  I popped over to Petry Model shop but just before I walked in I spotted that the little building to your right isn’t a cafe but a small shop and on the desk is this and it costs 10Lds.  You get the Freya, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique and Isis fits and although I’m not keeping it I’m in no way disapointed.

Then I continued on into the Petry shop and there is a whole lot of freebies for different free groups.  I can’t remember which one I did my most recent post on but I spotted a couple I will be returning for even if it’s just to check them out and then I got tempted away by this.

I picked this up from the Minimal shop at the Cosmopolitan Mall, the LM should take you right to the shop doorway which is where you will find this leaning against the shopping trolley.

Forgive the boring backdrop this is my working platform and because our sim is deep in snow this building just looked odd so this had to do.

In the pack, you get a linked and unlinked version and I wasn’t sure what the unlinked one was but if you look at the picture above you can see little ole me to get an idea of the sizing.  This is the linked version and the unlinked version is in the picture below.

So it’s basically this linked together to make a bigger building.  I LOVE IT.  I personally won’t live in it so for me this is just a backdrop to use but of course, it’s as much a home as a backdrop.  This smaller one is 35prims so of course that means the 2 linked ones are 70prims.

There is no demo, or at least I couldn’t see a TP to one but because I know this shop pretty well I just knew it was going to be top quality and it is.  Taken in my Original nams skin and prim setting so you can see the texturing better.  Check out the top picture to see the texture of the netting just so good

Get your Summer residence sorted

Its been a while since I’ve seen Zinnia release a building and this was most definitely worth the wait. The Hacienda is such a magnificent build – with cool terraces, bright patio areas, and even an optional roof top pool! Low Li and the texturing really made me gasp with appreciation.

The hacienda has a gorgeous courtyard, rustic kitchen. Footprint is 20 by 24.

There is a demo up for you to mooch at the Swank event, and I suggest you do – under $400L for this – steal! Our sim is very cottage & country – I haz a sad it wont fit in , however I’m going to try to use it in heaps of photos as it will make a wonderful back drop !

I’m just checking out old LM’s before I delete them and I mainly seem to be doing this however sometimes as I’m free-falling I do spot homes, shops, weird stuff, stuff you never ever want to see and then occasionally you stumble on a pleasant surprise.

Found these beauties on a platform in the sky.

Absolutely super Kawaii!  Everything about these builds makes me think of Unicorns and rainbows, Princesses and waterfalls, cartoon characters and plushies.

I took so many pictures it was hard to choose which ones to use in the end.  I also forgot to check the windlight setting but it was pretty close to my normal Nams setting and no picture editing at all.

You actually get two homes for the price of one, this one with the green stripes and the other with the blue and  patterned wallpaper and of course if you check the first picture you will see a difference in the outside paint work.

Although this is a single floor, nothing going on in the attic here, it’s pretty darn spacious but not the oversizing you get from just bad design, the ceilings are tall and exaggerated because after all this is for Princesses and Unicorns and for a BIG chandelier to hang down.  There is more than enough floor space, and of course the ground floor level as well, for all the furniture you really need.  Of course though even though this is on offer on the MP you can also see it inworld for yourself.

Both of the houses have the painted sky ceiling.

OK I’ve not bought them as I really really just can’t use yet another house/home/skybox/dome and on and on in my invent.  If I told you how many I own you would think I was a Home Hoarder (and I am) so it wasn’t the price tag that put me of it was simply the fact I have no more room for another room.

So far this is the only build available from Ethan Caldwel’s shop Epicuria but he’s managed to get so much detail and texturing into a 31 prim build I have high hopes for more of this quality and low prims.

Storage for a Linden(Dollarbie).

Amazing how much stuff is or was in my “received” folder I’m still working my way through it but this one is a definite keeper even if I simply end up using it as a background for pictures.

All of that for a single Linden! Sadly not very low primed but sometimes to get the details prims have to be used.

I say that this could be used on the land and as a sky home or even a workplace.  Why live in a house when you can live in a dump I say lol.

I’ve placed myself in it but it’s not really showing you it’s true size.  It is in fact a massive 32.000 (width) x 32.500 (length).

You can see through the grungy window.  There is a sliding door as well to allow you access to outside.

Last picture as I just wanted to show you the scale and texturing.  I’ve not fiddled with the photos I’ve simply used my inworld Nams setting and of course my dome colour will have had some softening effect.

I know that there are those in SL who love their cars and there is so much space in here you could literally rezz a smaller hut inside to turn into your home and have all your cars in this warehouse right next to you.  Or use it as a workplace, even though I have a sim to work on I am usually to be found on my platform, there is something about being up in the sky and away from the distractions that really helps you concentrate.

And as a reminder all of that will only cost you a SINGLE LINDEN!

I’ve gone a bit crazy and when I went check out Linus Humphrey’s MP shop there are ooodles of Dollarbie items and I’ve gone CRAZY and I’ve bought the grunge toilet, grunge office, the candy shop and the abandoned cottage and all are of the same amazing quality! and all of that came to just 4Lds and when I’ve got more time I’m grabbing the rest.

Look Away Faith!

I was checking out some old LMs for a place to take some pictures and I stumbled on this absolutely simple and yet stunning rental sim.

The sim  is called Baja Norte and it’s a blogger, moocher, beach lover, renters delight.  I haven’t rented a property here because for a small fee of 250Lds you can join the Baja Norte group and not only use the stunning decor items but also rezz your own props and poses if you feel the need to.   It would be good to join as the fee which is a one off helps towards this great sim but it’s not compulsory as you are free to use the facilities even if you’re not a group member.

Obviously it goes without saying if you do decide to join the group so you can rezz poses and props to watch the prims! and OMG clean up after yourself! Faith and I used to run a very successful and enjoyable rental sim but the cleaning up of other people’s prims was a pain in the bum.

Although there is more than enough places for people just to sit and chat and chill  and so you may never need or want to rezz anything.

I had a mooch around the homes the note that is  sent out does ask you not to enter a rented property which goes without saying but there are some vacancies esp the ones on the top of the hill.  At 250 a week these are bargain prices homes and although you only get 50Prims you will just not need them at all.  The whole sim is your playground and all you need is a few prims for some personal items.

Now I’m not a 100% sure if all of the homes come furnished already I’m pretty sure this was one of the Vacant homes and this is the standard to expect, it’s all quality items.  I’ll be back and I’ll have a recheck.

All these photos were taken in the sims own Windlight setting which is subtle moody and beachy at the same time, you of course can use whatever setting you want.

As I said the reason I’m not going to rent a home here is because I’m going to join the Baja Norte group and  now since our own sim is very much Autumnal and grassy I  have somewhere to flash the flesh and surf. This is a busy sim with plenty of people wandering, sitting and probably mugging for the camera and yet it is so quiet and people are just having a relaxing and fun time.  I sat on a log with my new log and even though there was 2 male AVs near to me we just sat and did our own thing.  If I didn’t rent my own sim I’d move here  and I know fine well Faith would also in a heartbeat.

Must mention the brilliant person behind all of this because she won’t be making money from the rentals here as she’s asking for so little so basically she’s done this just for the joy of giving to people in SL.  Lauren Bentham is her name and her surname might be familiar to a lot of people because she’s the owner of Bentham Manor and more.  I can’t believe that high is the sky is a packed shop/forest/woodland/build of spooky and ethereal items to buy for your home although most things are set out in a themed setting ie a spooky woodland most of what you see is for sale but check out her Flickr link as a picture shows you much better than I can write.
