Regular readers will recognise the background as being the house on the hill outside of the Mina Mainshop and I use it when I’m showing off a New Mina hair
I’ve taken dozens of pictures to try to show this hair off to it’s best and as always I end up sticking to the most simple pose and trust you will try the demo out for yourself.
I finally read the note which comes with all of the New Mina range of hair and I suspect that this hair as I’m wearing it is the non-material version and yet look at the colouring and strands? Doesn’t it look like material quality? If you’re wondering then the difference between “material” and “non-material” is that the non-one is just less detailed so for those of us who have computers that need a bit of help then wearing non-material can help with lag.
I then made a copy of the hair just in case I borked it and then had fun with played with the sliders in the style hud and WOAH! When you crank up the material level you get a shine on it that any hair conditioning shampoo advert would kill for. What is even more impressive is as you move your head the shine moves as well. I can’t wait to log back in and crank up the material level, remember in this picture this is not the material version, and walk around. See how much windlight and lighting affect the overall appearance of the hair.
I then played with the “glow” setting and we all know what the glow option does but I’m not sure if I’ve seen many hairs with this so I cranked it up and what an impact! When cranked up to the highest setting it’s as though your hair is like a halo and yet you can still see the hair details under the glow. I think photographers and people who like to stand out will just love this feature.
I wish I had a picture of all of the hair colours as this one comes with a massive hud of 84 colours!!! Again I opted for the boring brown and there are a decent amount of “standard” colours but equally, there are ombre’s and pastels and of course a short while back Mina introduced brand new shades not seen in any other shops.
There is a couple of other things for you to check out but my post was getting ridiculously long and you MUST try it for yourself! That way you can see not just all the things you get but of course to make sure it suits you as no one should take it for granted that a hair or skin which looks good when it’s being modelled by someone else will look just as good on you as them. So as always the Mina Mainshop LM first esp as the FaMESHed event is where you buy it from.
UPDATE: let’s talk about cold hard cash. This hair has a price tag of 400Lds BUT to get the “style hud” does cost another 150Lds. I always say I save money to spend money and somethings in SL are worth paying for and that’s why yesterday even though I have enough landscaping to cover 2 more sims I still bought the new grass and trees because when something “sings” to you you will pay for it and especially when you also recognise the skill and time that has been put into something to make your SL life much better. When it comes to skin and hair they too are two things you have to pay for. It is a shame that the style hud doesn’t come included as I personally adore the new superfine fringe that Mina has created but in the end, we’re paying for the quality and crafting and for that sometimes it has a price tag to match.
