Free LBD.

This is such a KISS (keep it simple stupid) post because everything just came together and there is a bit of freeness for all.

The hair is of course Mina and sorry  not free but even though I have OMG zillions of hair from so many SL shops and yet yet again I’m wearing a Mina hair! So if you like “Nikki” then follow the LM to Mina Nakamura’s shop.

However the LBD (little black dress) is Social Vintages newest Group Gift.  Free to join and So.Vintage even sends the Group Gifts out in the notices so you don’t even have to TP over to grab it BUT in all honesty when a designer/shop owner is so good at offering you shop quality items then do the decent thing and pop over check out whats there and see whats new which I have to confess I’ve not actually done as yet but when I grab the LM I certainly will be.  I’ve fiddled with the lighting to show off the texture a bit more because as although the dress is a dark black you can still see the pattern on the skirt, just not in my photos without some lighting help LOL.

Orange creations is somewhere I’m not actually familiar with which is surprising considering how big this place is.  Sadly because Faith put temptation in my way and I too have bought the SLink body and I’m busy playing with it I’m going to have to put off having a wander around here.  If you’re as lazy as I am then pop in and slap the sub board and you get the rather nifty pair of sun glasses I’m wearing but also there is some gifts on the entrance table which inc some real handy and simple poses, I’m using one in this picture.  There is also a 10Ld skin on offer.

Renting a Home in Secondlife (Part 5)

Aabye 37L per week rental home 1

I was really beginning to give up hope of finding a home to review. I’ve been dumped in forests, under buildings and left in the middle of a sim with nothing to tell me where to go see a home. *le sigh*. On my 50th teleport I finally found something ! This is Aabye rentals, and amazingly this sky home is just 37 L per week (paid monthly) Its got a lot going for it to be honest, and I’m not a big fan of these “boxy” style places, but even I warmed to it. Its spacious and almost everrrrrything in it is texture change. Youre not lumbered with what you’re given, love that. I fiddled about a bit, changed the wall colour and pattern, the lounge set is all colour & pattern change too, even the bed has a lot of choice of linen shades! The kitchen is a little out of proportion – unless you’re Amazonian woman – but its great fun, you can alter the wood of it and the counter tops, plus its got animations for cooking, baking, washing up, the fridge even hands out food & drinks. If you touch the window you get a choice of scenes to look out upon – nice touch. The rules are simple – you get a zero prim allowance, so you cant rez anything out permanently, but you can place shopping to open and then remove it. My group invite arrived within seconds, which was lovely. It would make a great base or romantic hideaway – the bed has a REALLY FULL menu *wink*, there’s also a dance system. Brilliant value all round.

Slink Physique & 37L per week rental home

Had to get a vanity shot in, the new corset that Player bought me from Blacklace awwww and also my newwww mesh Slink Physique body ! I’ve been playing around with this allll morning and I LOVE it ! Such a great price too, at 1250L it’s so affordable. Go grab a demo and try it out, worth a look. My hair is from Damsel Fly, a store Id not been to for such a long time – they sorta seemed to get stuck in a groove of what Id call more middle-aged female styles? Anyway, they’ve moved on and got into mesh, I popped over on the day of the 100L sale and snapped up a few do’s, very very pretty and modern yay!

I want to tell you all about Image Essentials  Kay Weston and her management  not only has a shop to buy all the props and poses you need to take some decent pictures but in true generosity she has a WHOLE sim set up with a massive amount of props/scenes/builds/studios/landscaping and all of that is OMG FREE to anyone to use.

The amount of time, money and imagination that goes into builds like this is staggering but to then leave it open to all and sundry is a reminder of what SL is all about.  However of course that doesn’t mean you cannot donate to the running of the sim and a gentle reminder is send out occasionally but no matter how large or small the donation just the fact that you have donated is much appreciated.  Then again you could also pop into her main shop Image Designs and treat yourself to a few poses.

Every time I visit there is something new and the Unicorn I’m battling with is certainly new to me.  I deliberately took this picture just using SL Windlight settings so even if you don’t have any sort of photo editing program you can still take brill pictures.

I rummaged through some of my previous images where I have either used Image Essentials Props or Poses to show you.  Nice to see that the men for once get quite a decent chance to take pictures as there are many male poses and props and even a full studio with just mens stuff (that’s never stopped me from using them as well). There are several studios from men and women to family poses.  Which leads nicely to the point that nudity isn’t frowned upon but only when it’s non sexual or porno, no one wants to see the danglies or the bazookas purlees!

Sometimes the simplest backgrounds can make the biggest impact. Although you do have to join the Image Essential Group to be able to activate the poses this is a great group.  People more than happy to offer help and advice but quiet enough so you don’t feel annoyed at all the chat.

As I’ve said not only does …use her own props n poses but is more than happy to stuff her sim with some of the best in SL and everyone should recognise who made this amazing pond. There are urban builds to enchanted woodlands.   The best thing about this place is no matter how busy it gets, and it is a popular location for many a photographer, you will be left alone! No one will IM you to ask what you’re doing no one will bother even camming you because this is a place for Pros as well as novices just to chill out and hopefully take some great pictures.

The “Dare” is that the Monthly Comp is now in place and you still have more than enough time to enter.  The details will be sent to you when you TP in and it’s basically very simple.  Kay has some new builds set out a lovely cottage and apple stand(shown) etc and all you have to do is using this area as a prop/background take your best shot. You can rezz any prop or pose you wish but again make sure you clean up.  Just to show you how user friendly this photo sim and Kay is check out the basic rules:  This simply means if you don’t have any sort of Photoshopping prog or skills so you won’t bother entering then you have a chance just using windling, facelights and skill to win not only some Shop Credit but also actual Lindens.

(must be a snapshot – saved to inventory when photo was taken and NOT edited))
(anything that is sent as a texture – a picture that was saved to harddrive
and then imported into SL and is classed as a texture regardless of whether
you have edited or not.)

Now I have rezzed and used my own poses sometimes so I know that you can BUT and I cannot stress this enough please clean up after yourself.  I don’t think this is a big issue at Image Essentials, of course I could be wrong however it must be so frustrating for any sim owner to have to keep on checking the prims because of people rezzing stuff and just not cleaning up after themselves.

To make it even easier I’m putting not only the link to the sim but also the one to join the group so you don’t even have to slap the group joiner board.

Have a thought.

I Sometimes I get so many notices and notes coming through I miss things and I almost missed the 3 Group Gifts set out by Juno Mantel in her shop Junbug.

Snigger reedited piccie to make Faith smile again.

Junbug is a shop devoted to the LUSHNESS  in SL.  Heavy draping costumes to frilly froo froo, costumes for paupers to princesses it’s all here.  This isn’t a free to join group and I can’t remember how much it cost me but it’s been paid back in full and much more with these 3 items alone.

This decadent dress is one of the GG’s and yes there is no top just the tightly cinched corset and flowing full skirt. The other 2 gifts are a white wispy full skirt with a tight black corset and no boob flashing with that dress, there is also a satin shawl/cowl.

Check out her blog NOW! Junbug Blog just to see the beauty in her styling.  If you can’t afford her Group joining free then make sure to slap her sub board and this way you will be kept right upto date on special offers and events because I do know that Juno Mantel does put out specially lower priced offers of her shop quality clothes which to those who are on a budget is brilliant however her clothes are like a drug.  When you wander around her shop the temptation to spend spend spend is strong.

Awww nooo I’m going to be spending more Lindens because if you scroll down her blog page you will see some of the items she has in a Gacha at The Secret Affair but she also has a few of them tucked away in the back of her shop which I didn’t look at because I would end up spending a whole load of money.

Free Flatness.

I’ve got to reboot my internet connection (which means turn the router on and off in laymans talk) but fortunately I’d snagged these flatties and this picture before I crashed.

If you missed the last Group Gift from Pure Poison then make sure to grab these sweeties, a slightly different method in delivery of this Group Gift in that they’re put in a Gacha and the first  is your free pair and the colour will be a random colour, as you can see I won the black ones.  If you love them and want more colours then you pay and play the Gacha as normal.

Also check out the stalls because they’re fully loaded with old Group Gifts and then I crashed so really I can’t tell you much more but I did spot a very similar pair of sandals to these ones but with ribbon bows on them.  Sorry to say you will need SLink flat feet for this pair but you never know the other pair may not need SLink and there was more than shoes on the Group Gifts stalls.
